This Plasma Globe is part of our Collection of Museum Sized RED Plasma Globes. These Plasma Balls feature reddish-white plasma lightning with red-orange tips. On a low-power setting, small pale-red tendrils swirl around in the center of the globe with a gentle lightning-strike motion, but once you turn the power up, the plasma lightning turns into a full blown galactic sun-storm. This gas mixture produces a very active effect with each plasma "arm" splitting into several energized fingers towards the tips. The plasma current produced when you place your hand on the glass is intense and concentrated.
Due to variations in the manufacturing process, no two globes are exactly alike, making each one truly a collector's item!

I recently ordered one of Specialty toys large 15 in. Plasma globes and want to give a review of the product and service from this BC based company. I remember seeing several of the expensive plasma globes back in the 80s and 90s that cost several thousand dollars back then and have been looking for a cheaper alternative. The cheap little globes sold at Spencers and WalMart are no comparison and are usually small in size, 7-8 in. max. I wanted a larger quality made globe but didn't want to pay the $1500-2500 dollars for a custom made globe from a company that supplies to museums and professional displays. I found specialty toys website and decided to give their globe 15 in. $399 dollar globe a try and was very, very pleased with their product. It is a quality made item from start to finish. The glass is quality laboratory glass, the circuit board is built into the base which while plastic has the look of marbled wood. Even the transformer is a 24 volt output vs the typical 12 volt which gives a much better display. The unit powered up well and the display of plasma is incredible at this price. The plasma is the typical pinkish-red with white centers and orange fingers at the tips where it contacts the glass. It isn't mushy , distorted or foggy, rather the plasma streams are very distinct and sharp. Also the customer service was excellent. I live near Tacoma Washinton and the globe reached me by the 3rd day, Fast and prompt. The globe was very well packed but somehow the electronics where damaged in shipping. A call to Specialty toys was passed immediately to a manager and 3 days later I had a new plasma globe no questioned asked. I highly recommend both the product and Specialty toys as a quality company to do business with. I hardly ever write a review or leave feedback but in this case I was so happy with the outcome I decided to. I have no affiliation with this company. I just wanted to inform anyone thinking about one of these globes or worried dealing with a company new to Amazon that my experience was very positive.

Unfortunately, the photos displayed were very mis-leading. While they might very well be Museum sized, they're by no means museum quality. If you simply have to have a plasma globe, save your money and buy a 6 - 8 inch diameter globe for about 15% of the cost of the so-called museum globe.
