This Plasma Globe is part of our Collection of Museum Sized PURPLE Plasma Globes. These Plasma Balls feature purple plasma lightning with reddish tips, emanating from a red electrode. On a low-power setting, the plasma fingers swirl around the central electrode in a subtle light dance, but once you turn the power up, the plasma streams become more active and energized, with plasma fingers gently reaching and splitting apart towards the surface of the glass. This gas mixture produces an intense, concentrated plasma current when you put your hand on the top of the globe.
Due to variations in the manufacturing process, no two globes are exactly alike, making each one truly a collector's item!

Museums across the world have amazed their visitors with huge Plasma Globes, using them to explain the principals of electricity. These beautiful light sculptures can reach 36" in diameter and cost above $25,000!

While I initially wrote a great review after looking at the globe for 10 minutes,

after 30 minutes of operation, it died !!!!

Could not be resurrected

Toooooo bad, I loved it while it worked!

EDIT: They sent a replacment globe in a week.

I've left it on full for 2 days and it seems to be working as advertised.

They would not let me return the defective globe for a complete refund, without a restocking fee!

WHAT??!!

It doesen't work as advertised and you want me to help cover your shipping cost??!!

At any rate, the new globe is beautiful and they were prompt with a replacement.

If ya want a piece of electronic art, this is something to consider.

I bought this to be placed on our table at tradeshows, just to grab attention and be played with. It worked well, lot of people stopped to look at it, some asking where we found such a large one, even in a brightly lit room. It was packaged well and worked as expected. The lady I talked to regarding shipping was easy to get a hold of and extremely helpful, as I had this shipped to a hotel for a show, and the hotel had two addresses and there was a little confusion,,, Anyway, every showed up quickly and on time, all ended up fine. Thanks. Good deal, I would recommend this item and this store to others. My first Amazon purchase too, more of Ebayer, but this went very well, even using Visa instead of Paypal. I was a little worried about Visa delays on a new account, but it went through in less than a day.

The plasma globe we received was exactly what we needed. It was shipped quickly and carefully. The globe was very easy to install into an exhibit at our small facility and is enjoyed by many everyday. The globe is very durable with thick glass and a substantial base. The price is very reasonable for what we paid for it. I recommend this product.
