While I initially wrote a great review after looking at the globe for 10 minutes,
after 30 minutes of operation, it died !!!!

Could not be resurrected
Toooooo bad, I loved it while it worked!

EDIT: They sent a replacment globe in a week.
I've left it on full for 2 days and it seems to be working as advertised.

They would not let me return the defective globe for a complete refund, without a restocking fee!
WHAT??!!
It doesen't work as advertised and you want me to help cover your shipping cost??!!
At any rate, the new globe is beautiful and they were prompt with a replacement.
If ya want a piece of electronic art, this is something to consider.

I bought this to be placed on our table at tradeshows, just to grab attention and be played with. It worked well, lot of people stopped to look at it, some asking where we found such a large one, even in a brightly lit room. It was packaged well and worked as expected. The lady I talked to regarding shipping was easy to get a hold of and extremely helpful, as I had this shipped to a hotel for a show, and the hotel had two addresses and there was a little confusion,,, Anyway, every showed up quickly and on time, all ended up fine. Thanks. Good deal, I would recommend this item and this store to others. My first Amazon purchase too, more of Ebayer, but this went very well, even using Visa instead of Paypal. I was a little worried about Visa delays on a new account, but it went through in less than a day.

The plasma globe we received was exactly what we needed. It was shipped quickly and carefully. The globe was very easy to install into an exhibit at our small facility and is enjoyed by many everyday. The globe is very durable with thick glass and a substantial base. The price is very reasonable for what we paid for it. I recommend this product.

great conversation piece- delivered well packaged and very quickly. definitely comes to life in low light and it is very hard not to keep your eyes off the effects- fun stuff.

This globe is on a completely different level from any of the smaller, mass-market globes out there hands down. I ordered mine two or three years ago and have had no problems with it. I am sorry to hear that some buyers have had theirs not work properly, needing a return/replacement.

I had been admiring and casually collecting these globes since the mid-eighties when I purchased the ground-breaking "Eye Of The Storm" . I was hooked. I decided to purchased the "purple" one from this company and have absolutely loved it. It is not cheap however and I can only recommend it to those who have done their research and have some experience with plasma globes. Only then can one fully appreciate that this globe is a pretty good value.

If you want something bigger and better, you are looking at one made by only a few artists in the world who know how to combine glass-blowing, electrical engineering, chemistry and physics to create only a very limited number of globes/year for the wealthy or for well funded institutions or companies needing a truly impressive display.

I know that the shipping cost can be a shock, but when my purple 15-inch globe arrived, I could understand why. It came in a box 27.5 x 16.5 x 16.5 inches, with well engineered form-fitting Styrofoam protection. It also had large label/stickers on 5-sides that said "Fragile!". I am not sure if it would have survived the American Tourister Guerilla test[...], but it would have been close.

The first one we received had a problem, but the vendor very quickly sent a replacement unit. We are using the Plasma Ball in a haunted house and it looks great! I highly recomend dealing with this company, they stand behind what they sell with no hassel. The replacement is working well and will certainly make a big impact in our haunt.

I purchased the plasma globe for my grandson's 14h birthday. I naturally had to try it out before giving it to him and found it is very difficult to not touch it and play with it. It really is hypnotic. That proved true for all my grandkids and their parents as well. I told my grandson that the only condition was that he had to learn about Nicola Tesla. I couldn't find fault with the plasma globe with the single exception being that it is quite expensive. But, I'm a grandparent, what can I say. If it keeps him focused on science, it was worth every cent.
