skittery, itchy jazz beats with an ambient infusion!, March 13, 2004
Ok, now that sounded like a bit of rock crit hyperbole but I have to say that after hearing this on the radio a week ago, I was instantly hooked. The Tokyo scene is amazing and No.9 is really at the top as far as I can tell...it's just nobody knows it yet. The grooves are ticklish and the sentimentality is super refreshing. In my opinion, this fits nicely right alongside the best stuff by Nobukazu Takemura. I'm already ready for more!
