GREAT CD but too pricey here,
This review is from: Mushroom Head (Audio CD)
Mushroomhead's first local release originally put out in 1995 and then re-issued in 2002 with a new design. It was first sold only at shows and at CD stores in their local hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Now available to you no matter where you live. Contains the song "43" which was remixed for their first national release "XX".
Tracklisting: 1. Slowthing 2. Elevation 3. Too Much Nothing 4. Intermission 5. Ego Trip 6. Mommy 7. 2nd Thoughts 8. Casualties in B Minor 9. Indifferent 10. Simpleton 11. 43 12. Episode 29 13. Snap [...]

I Decided to write a review since the rest of these don't seem very helpful...,
This review is from: Mushroom Head (Audio CD)
Their first independent release from 1995. Out of all 3 indie releases this is my least favorite but it is still a great album, more fun than the rest of them with many intrludes and joke tracks between songs. The most famous songs are Too Much Nothing and 43. But the best songs on here are 2nd Thoughts, which while heavy can make a great dance tune in clubs, Indifferent, the closest they get to a ballad on this outing, and Ego Trip, where JMann dislays his mic skills. The lyrical themes aren't so much philosophical as they would be on later albums and some might find them slightly humorous (but in a good way). Keep in mind that a lot of the members are different from the current line up; different guitar players, different turntabelist, and obviously they still had JMann. They would get a lot deeper musically and lyrically on later releases but this is still a fun listen. That's my review and I'm sorry if it wasn't very deep or intellectual sounding, but hopefully it's more helpful than the rest of them.

Great start,

For those thinking this was the follow up to XX you're wrong. This was the debut from Mushroomhead orginally released in 1995. This cd I think sounds a lot different from the newer stuff and pretty much a lot of other stuff they've done. But still a great listen and great start to a damn good band.

2nd Thoughts deserves better!,

How is it possible that I'm the first 1-star reviewer for this?! This album is mostly just a piano playing with some gunfire in the background. The actual songs aren't even metal, except for 2nd Thoughts, which really deserves to be remastered, because it's a great freaking heavy metal song! Other than that, I thought the second best song was Mommy, which still isn't even metal, and is about the incest love between a mother and her son. Really. I'm not joking, listen to the song and look at the lyrics if you don't believe me. Yeah...and I thought that was the second best song on this album, so you can only imagine how bad the rest of it is. If you're a fan of Savior Sorrow, XX, and XIII...don't make the same mistake I did. Stay far, far away from this album.

This is an excellent album. I have been hooked since the first time I heard it. I would deffinatley suggest buying this as well as xx. If this is sold out here you can go to ....... and go to the store for the remake of this album. They also carry superbuick (original),remix(remake)and M3(remake). Also remember they have a new cd coming out on 10/14/03 called XIII. The single off it is featured on the freddy vs. jason soundtrack.
