I listen to this CD when I'm working in my office. I find that the music is not distracting and actually enhances my ability to concentrate and stay focused.

This is my first Steve Halpern album. I'm not sure if the subliminals in this CD do any good, but the new age music on it is nice, relaxing, and not annoying. It is not distracting either. I use it to study with and it certainly helps block out unwanted noise.

I love this CD! I often put it in my personal CD player and take it to the coffee shop to help me as I study French. The music is relaxing but not sleep-inducing. Steven Halpern composes great music.

5.0 out of 5 stars all Halpern music is the same (forwards or backwards), March 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Music for Accelerated Learning (Audio CD)
Am I the only one, or does all of Steve Halpern's music sound the same? Of course, he would say that my unconscious mind is interpreting this stuff differently. I'm not a "play it backwards" person, but due to a tape player malfunction the darn think played backward and you know what? It sounded the same. Now think what that would do to your subconscious mind!

His music is soothing and great for background (either forwards or backwards). Better than elevator music for waiting rooms.

5.0 out of 5 stars My 5 year old thinks it is great., October 29, 2007
This review is from: Music for Accelerated Learning (Audio CD)
Music for Accelerated Learning ~ Steven Halpern. I homeschool and love this music almost as much as my 5 year old. During school I play it on low and my daughter seems to focus more. She said to me just last night, "Mommy I just love my thinking music". She tested 1st grade overall when she was 4. No, she is not a genius, she just loves school and I believe it is particially due to listening to background music like Halpern's. We get so far in a school day that it is amazing to me...I credit the music...when it is off we both seem to burn out quicker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent CD for Reading, Studying and Even Relaxing, January 19, 2009

I initially purchased this CD for reading and keeping concentrated with the task in hand. So far it has done its purpose well. Im not gonna say that it is the only CD that will do the job, but it will shure help when it comes to keeping concentrated on your studies. It is not a distracting music but it set a mood of enjoyment even though you dont enjoy what you are reading. The intro is excellent to set a mind state and the second song gives you the rythim to keep reading effortlessly. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys listening to non vocalized music while reading or studying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for working and studying, September 13, 2011

The music is very soothing and relaxing. I use it as background music when I work and study.
It helps me concentrate better than classical music because the melodies in classical music distract me at times.

Like a lot of people, I'm not sure about the effectiveness of the subliminal reinforcements but find this CD good background music while I am working (writing, grading papers, ...). The tracks are all pleasant but not distracting. I also find its length makes it a perfect timer: when the CD ends, it's time to stand up and stretch or do something else for a while so that I don't get stiff from sitting too long.
