Smarter than your average bear,

This EP is the first music that I've heard by The Juliana Theory (not counting a couple of downloads) and I must say I am very impressed. I've read a couple of reviews ragging on this record for its mediocrity, and I say that if this is mediocrity, then I can't wait to hear the rest of their music. Although the songs are really B sides thrown together, they seem to fit in my mind. They all have an eerie Pink Floyd quality. This association is something I didn't see in other reviews and wonder how anyone could have missed it. The beginning of "This Is The End ofYour Life" sounds so much like Floyd's "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" that one has to wonder if it was sampled. Also, Track 2, which I can't remember the name of could be passed off as a Floyd track to the untrained ear. They even go so far as to invoke the phrase "Bleeding hearts and artists," which is something that turns up repeatedly in Pink Floyd's "The Wall." I want to hear some other talk on this subject. Overall, this is a very good and very complete record, despite its shortness. It is much smarter, and more highly evolved than anything you'll hear on the radio these days.

Only 6 Songs...,

so what they are great songs. This EP sounds to me like a continuation of their last album, "Emotion is Dead".It is really hard to describe Juliana Theory's sound. All I know is that I like it. If you like the sound clips you'll love the whole album.

This is The Juliana Theory's best work to date. I realize that this is only an EP but it is the best six songs i've heard from them. This album continues to show their. If you have never heard TJT this would be a great way to be introduced. This EP pretty much picks up where Emotion is Dead left off, but to another level. This farewell to Tooth and Nail album looks to be a glimps of great things to come with Epic. I don't think i could have made it much longer without some new music from these guys. Thanx so much...

Shows the Maturation of the Band,

Being from the hometown of the Theory, I have followed them closely. I bought this album, and I initially hated it. But after I listened to it again, it really grew on me, and I now think that it is their best work. One of the biggest problems with the band before was that their lyrics had little meaning. It was either "La, la, la, I love you" or "La, la, la" something else. Their lyrics vary now, and their music still equals the power of songs from their previous albums. The first and last songs are amazing. The other ones are good as well. In conclusion, if you want really good music blended with really good lyrics, then you should buy this CD.

Juliana Theory is a hugely talented band; it seems their biggest problem is just being misunderstood. the vocals on breathing by wires are wimpy purposely, because they're followed by the angry bit about how machines suck (kind of like the "sha la la" song on emotion immediately followed a song called "to the tune of 5,000 screaming children"). i can understand how the repitition could get annoying, but i don't think it's a problem - it's making room for some instrumental interlude stuff i find quite cool.basically, this album is really good, although i think emotion was a bit better, and these don't fit together as much, being assembled of leftovers as this album is. still, in true tjt style, real passionate songs. that's what makes them so good. end of your life feels a bit overworked; the next two tracks are cool, but repititious (the beginning is the best part); liability is especially haunting; breathing by wires has that great part at the end of the chorus; and piano song starts oddly, but the piano-playing holds it together so beautifully.

tjt are one of my favorite bands in the last few years and i still think "understanding..." and "emotion..." are better complete projects . but given that this is a collection of previously unreleased tracks -->its a great cd to get if youre into the band . and if youre curious too . why not? everything they write is worth hearing .

Incredible Band,

I found The Juliana Theory by chance after seeing them mentioned on a random website. I downloaded a few of their songs off Morpheus and decided to buy their CD. I now own three of their CD's. They are an incredible, under rated, seemingly unknown band with diverse tunes, creative lyrics, and an absence of over used clichéd lyrics. An Emo sound with an powerful edge, The Juliana Theory is an overall great band.

Music From Another room. I waited for this release for a while. I was excited to hear that they were going to release some b-sides on an ep. when i finally picked it up i wasn't dissapointed. alot more progressive than previous releases. more guitars and a little more edge. the cd actually has 5 songs. and is laid out quite nice. for fans of good rock music and real fans of the juliana theory.

This is a great cd,

When I first listened to this cd, I hadn't yet looked at the lyrics. And I'll admit, I liked the songs, but they were not unbelievable. However, once I read the lyrics to the songs, it put the cd into a whole new light. All of the songs have profound lyrics, especially the 6th track, which is so moving and so beautiful and has the deepest lyrics that listening to it brings me to the verge of tears. Track 4 and 1 are the other two extremely good songs on this cd, and Track 2 and 3(which is one song continued on two tracks) and 5 are good. Granted, this cd is not as good as Emotion Is Dead, but it's definately worth the money.

Ok, these guys rock!!!...this has to be TJT's best so far...i know its just an EP but i have been jonesing for more Juliana Therory music for a while now, and these six songs are just awesome. Music from Another Room takes off where Emotion is Dead left off, but its like they reached another level of talent and skill..The diverse style of music joined by the heartfelt lyrics make for a great EP. cant wait for the live album they just recorded and their new one on Epic Records. Thanx Brett, Chad, Neil, Josh and Josh for giving me a fix until your next LP.
