Let's face it, nothing out there is going to put a baby immediately to sleep. At least that's the case in my experience. However, this CD definitely helps to calm my son down right before his bedtime (and naptime). Once the lights are dimmed, and he hears the CD playing softly in the background, he immediately relaxes, which I think is a more realistic expectation.

Before we bought this Sleepy Baby, we used a different CD we received as a gift, and it was horrible - the music took forever to start and it wasn't as long as this CD, plus the quality of Sleepy Baby is so much better.

My only regret was waiting until my son was three months old before getting this CD.

This CD is wonderful. I enjoy it as much as my 1 year old daughter. We've been listening to it for 9 months and it is incredibly peaceful and soothing. From now on, I will be giving it as a baby gift to friends and family.

This is very pleasant classical music to listen to anytime, but especially at bed or nap time. It makes a good buy for home, nursery, or daycare. I think it makes the home environment soothing and happy.

Please keep in mind that neither this CD nor any other CD can magically put a crying baby to sleep like a drug. A child usually cries because he or she needs something (music is not what the baby needs), which is usually to be loved and babied by a parent. I am rather shocked by some of the other heart-breaking comments written here by others complaining that this CD "did not work." I suggest reading a book on basic baby care. The primary goal of the first six months is to nurture the baby as much as you can and just bond with your child. Babies are going to cry and cry some times (sometimes just to work their lungs) and there is nothing you can do to stop it, which can be puzzling and frustrating. Sometimes they just need to be held for long periods of time, and you just need to keep rocking, singing, snuggling, and loving the baby.

They need to swaddled, held, cuddled, rocked, craddles, touched, talked to softly, hummed to with the lights down low, caressed, and LOVED. Get in the habit of carrying the baby around alot and speaking in baby talk.

A baby needs to be nurtured - babied - to thrive. This music is really good to listen to and helps create a positive and pleasant purpose. It is not able to drug your child to sleep so you can be left alone.

My experience is that some children's music CD's are of great quality, while others are of poor quality. This one is well made. All four "Music for Babies" CD's are high quality, enjoyable and recommended by Parents Choice. This is good music.

This is the most fabulous CD ever created for soothing a baby. Not only does it soothe my little guy to sleep, but it helps me relax as well. I couldn't live without it. We listen to it every night and still aren't tired of it after 18 months. (I can't believe anyone wouldn't enjoy this CD. . .if they don't, they must be listening to it on a tin box during a rain storm.)

I saw these given at a baby shower and went to the web site to find them. After reading a little I bought them. They were everything I wanted and more. I use Sleepy Baby the most. The first time I used it, I was baby sitting my nephew (about 6 months old), he was fussing and upset. I put this on and he immediately stopped fussing. He just stared at the stereo for awhile, then his mood changed. We had a few laughs, then we both got tired! I put him to sleep and was very excited to tell his mom when she came to pick him up.

I even use these with my husband who has insomnia, don't just think that these affect babies. I love them and have recommended them to numerous friends and family members.

This is a fantastic cd to get for your newborn on up. It is just a beautiful collection of music. So soothing and calms the wee onesto sleep

My 7yr old daughter has always had a very difficult time falling asleep. When her favorite "sleepy time music" CD started skipping due to scratches, I thought I would out try this one since it had so many favorable reviews. She absolutely LOVES it! I was thrilled that it helped her to fall asleep so quickly. Usually, she has to listen to an entire CD repeat again and again. This CD has worked every night since it arrived and she falls asleep before song #3 finishes every time. :-)

This is a wonderful relaxing CD. We play classical/new age music all day, but this is reserved for nightime:)

My mom bought this CD for me because I was having so much trouble getting my baby to fall asleep. Even with rocking and singing it would take him a long time to fall asleep, and he would get so overtired that much of that time would be spent crying. I rolled my eyes at the idea of a CD called "Sleepy Baby" and that that was supposed to solve my problem, but I was so exhausted that I was willing to try anything. Wow, was I wrong! Within a minute or so of turning on this music, my baby calms way down. He stops wiggling and fussing and starts to look zoned out. He often falls asleep before the first song is over - no matter which song I start on - and even if he doesn't, he is at least quiet and calm. If I play this CD when he starts looking tired, he never gets to the point of being overtired and screaming. He just calms down until he quietly falls asleep. What a relief!

this was a baby shower gift that I thought little of until the child came home.
We have been listening to this CD for the past 5 years. we have taken it on vacations and to relatives' homes and it made bed times and nap times on the road so much easyer than when we forgot it. My elderly Mother was so impressed she started listening to it when she started haveing trouble sleeping.
The songs are all slow and rhythmic with no words. With each song the beat seems to get slower and the volume slightly softer, slowing the heart beat and quieting the mind.
When the music stops I know an hour has passed and can decide if I need to wake the little darling up or send up a prayer that she sleeps even longer.
Our child is 5 now and we have experienced many guest for sleep overs and nap times. Using the sleepy Baby Music has helped calm those children aswell so that everyone in the house gets a good nights sleep.
A friend of mine is a Day-Care-Teacher for 2 year olds. She was having so much trouble finding nap time music until her 5 year old reminded her of our Sleepy Baby music, now everyone is happy.
