Son of a Bach, February 8, 2000

I just stumbled across this CD, and I'm a big Dorian fan and I like other CDs of this group (Bach's Secular Cantatas, for instance), so it's nice to hear the Bach family legacy brought to life. C.P.E. wrote fascinating stuff, and the short symphony here is tuneful and complex. Works by W.F., J.C.F. and J.C. are all well chosen and excellently played, and I'm especially fond of the Symphony in G Minor by J.C. that concludes the disc. Here's the Baroque era in the wake of Bach, just before Mozart dominated the scene.
