I have been a Buddy Holly fan since I first heard him on the radio in my home town of Sydney, Australia.

Whilst we heard all his songs, the main songs that is, it took many years, over 50, for me to be able to access a detailed visual history of his life and times and friends.

It was great to see the other players who worked with him in those days eg a very young Waylon Jennings.

A brilliantly put together documentary, even my wife found it very interesting! Although she got a bit sick of me falling asleep with the DVD player on and it defaulting to "That'll be the Day", in the early hours of the morning.

A great contribution to those interested in the history and pioneers of Rock n Roll!

I was very pleased with this DVD, my wife watched it with me and even though she is not as big a fan of Buddy and his music as I am, she said it was very good, and entertaining, and she learned a lot about Buddy and his music.

I am pleased to add it to my collection of DVD's and CD's by Buddy Holly and the Crickets.

Would highly recommend it to the loyal fan or someone just discovering Buddy!

This DVD contains an excellent set of interviews with key figures in the Buddy Holly story. There are one or two obvious omissions in terms of personnel, but with the perennial legal issues surrounding the Buddy Holly legacy, that is not surprising. The stories told by some of the participants are very familiar, but they lose nothing in the re-telling and others add valuable new glosses. To this reader, the most unexpectedly interesting is Charles Bunch, now no longer with us but here describing eloquently what it meant to be asked to play drums behind Buddy Holly. All in all, a welcome addition to any Buddy Holly/Crickets addict's collection. My one criticism is the misleading way Amazon lists the DVD: it is NOT by Jerry Allison - he is simply one of many contributors.
