Carole King...enough said. This is a great CD to relax to. I love listening while driving because it just seems to melt the stress away.

Thank you Carole for all the music that is our life from the early stuff "Some Kind of Wonderful" which is covered on this album with fine guitar work from James Taylor and the classic "Brother,Brother" to "Surely"or the haunting but hopeful"Music",she has laid the road-map to whatever soul and heart this mean old world has left in it.Yes those were differant times and in general, more of what was to become the "new age"and the "new agers" who now for the most part are old-fogeies.Whatever the social or political views you have, put this one on and forget about it for awhile. James Taylor worked and is present here more than on the first album"Tapestry"and much more than on the follow-up album to this one in 1973 "Rhymes and Reasons", which is also a work of art in it's own right. Can you Tell that I love Carole King and her music? I confess I do and you will too if you got any heart left and you love music.

A Kid's Review

It's no easy way to make two consecutives masterpieces, but Carole is Surely the best songwriter in the last century, one of them at least. After Tapestry,a number 1 in all the world, Music is the next album with Lou Adler in the production too and musicians like the great James Taylor, another nș1, Danny Kootch, Charles Larkey, then her husband,Curtis Amy, Ralph Schuckett,Joel O'Brien, etc. From Sweet Seasons to Growing away from me, passing for Some kind of wonderful,Carry your load or Song of long ago,the Music's themes are Beautiful and It's not too late to Back to California and to be in Home again.Get it, It's Brighter,Brother...

Carole King / Music: Nearly everyone remembers that "Tapestry" was a # 1 album for Carole King in 1971, but most do not remember that "Music" was also a #1 album for her in the same year. "Music" is as wonderful and beautiful as "Tapestry" and is, in fact, part of an album trilogy (see added note below). This is a Masterpiece album and easily rates five stars. "Tapestry"/ "Music" / "Rhymes & Reasons" are, in fact, a musical trilogy and ought to be heard in succession. If you love "Tapestry" but have not heard it along with "Music" and "Rhymes & Reasons", you have only experienced 1/3rd of the whole.

I do have a number of Carole King CDs. I am not crazy about this particular piece of work but then again, this just does not appeal yo my taste.
