The folk group Os Lusitanos of Saint-Cyr l'École was formed in 1992 with the aim of bringing the songs and dances of Northern Portugal to a wider audience. The present director of the group is Luis Esteves. The ensemble is composed of fifty dancers accompanied by fifteen musicians. This recording testifies to the rich, lively, and joyful musical heritage of the Minho region. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

I was highly skeptical of this CD when I bought it, but was pleasantly surprised by its contents and the quality of the recording. It has 17 tracks of some of the best known Portuguese songs that I love very much. They are performed by local artists and are of very high quality. The only drawback that I found is that about two of the tracks of the recording could have been cleaned up a bit when they where recorded for a more enjoyable listening experience. Over all it's a great CD that I like very much and would recommend to for all to enjoy.
