Music Dogs Love: While You Are Gone

i have 4 dogs and used to put the radio on when I left them alone. I bought this over Christmas and seems to work better. The music along with the sound effects calms them down better than just the radio or TV. I am really surprised my youngest pup even likes it (she ignores everything). Good buy.

My 15 week old Maltese puppy, Zoe, has become very attached. It is almost impossible to move around our home without Zoe nipping at your feet. And she despises being put into the crate. However, I have noticed an improvement after purchasing the music as well as the DVD...Zoe is much calmer in the crate. She used to tear it apart, now when I come home, she is usually relaxing in her crate playing with her toys. For the price, its a great investment.

Got the CD & DVD together. Had hoped it would help calm our puppy, Mojo, down at night so that we could sleep peacfully...and to have him not wake us up in the morning (he barks when we put him to bed and again around 6 in the morning!). Well, he didn't much care for the DVD version but the CD was wonderful. We put it in, set it to repeat and left....and then silence...blessed silence from our puppy! He listened with rapt attention. We went to bed and slept the whole night without a single bark...got up the next morning and thought our guy had died...thats how quite he was! Now it's a part of our regular routine. We haven't tried the DVD again but one day we will, until then we're sticking with the CD.

Now if only they'll make a CD called "Music to Stop Your Dog from Chasing Your Cats!" :-)

Perhaps this cd calms some dogs, but the music is interspersed with dogs barking, people talking, chickens clucking, and my dog got agitated at what she perceived as the sounds of invaders and ran around the room barking whenever the non-musical portions of the recording came on, so we had to retire the cd after one playing.

This is a great CD! Sounds funny but it does wonders for my lab.

I put on this CD as soon as it arrived to test my dog's response. My initial reaction was that the music is indeed lovely and calming. However, I had not anticipated how strongly she would react to the sound effects. The barking dogs had her ears twitching... kids voices and story-teller were mostly ignored... but when the cats started meowing my dog was running around the room... searching for her #1 enemies. By the time we reached "Catching some Zzz's" with the howling sounds, my dog was barking and agitated. She ran to the window in search of the offending sounds. Needless to say, I won't be leaving my dog alone with the CD playing. I did love the songs themselves though. Thank you.

Great music on this CD. VERY relaxing as I listen to it along with my dog almost everyday. I even listen when thy are not around. Looking forward to Dogs Love II but in the mean time will enjoy this.

Bo says "BARK BARK" (means "sounds cool"). Charlie says "BARK BARK BARK" (means I agree with BO. Thought my dogs would give their opinion since its for them. But I agree!!!

First off, I work full time and I have school a few nights a week. My dog is a very well adjusted boy, and while I know he misses me, he's not destructive, nor do I think he has separation anxiety. I was looking for something to keep him company while I was gone, and to help "distract" him from being alone. I bought this CD after buying the "Through a Dog's Ear" Volume I. Let me say this is the best one by far!

I bought Through a Dog's Ear because there were so many reviews vs. this one that didn't have too many. Boy was I wrong. The Through a Dog's Ear is piano music--which is nice, but in my opinion, I wanted something more than that to keep Baxter company. We're a "hard rocking music" house, and I just thought the piano music was boring to him.

So, I bought this one too. The first time I played it, his ears perked up when the birds started chirping--he loved it! The music is very nice--lots of piano, so it's not as thought I hate piano music--but it's accompanied by lots of nice comforting animal sounds and things to make the music more exciting for my furry friend.

I highly recommend this to anyone with a dog at home for long periods of time. I turn it on about 10-20 minutes before I leave, and give my dog a little treat to occupy him while I get out the door. He's very happy and settled while I'm gone and this helps me feel like I've done my job as his "mommy" - in making sure he's not miserable and mildly entertained while I'm gone.

I'm going to buy the holiday one too!!

Since the DVD's for dogs and cats had such great results, I purchased this CD as well. My new dog loved it. Turns out, I love it too!
