This review is from: Music in East Africa: Experiencing Music, Expressing Culture (Global Music Series) (Paperback)
As a novice in African music, this book provided a basis for understanding some of the different cultural expressions in East Africa. The first person accounts of African musicians as well as and the accompanying cd with sounds of various instruments and ensembles helped to give an authentic feel for African music.
Highly recommended.
