First Chapter Book Series to Catch My Daughter's Attention,

My 7 yo daughter is a reluctant reader and the transition to chapter books wasn't easy. She's an artitic/musical child, so the Music Fairies from the Rainbow Fairies collection was the perfect series to get her into reading "big" books. Good text for second grade-third grade readers. (May be too easy for some third graders, but they'll like the stories and be proud they could read them so easily.) Author does nice job of only introducing one or two "big" words per page, so reader develops confidence by being able to independently read most of each page. And author repeats the larger, new vocabulary words...helps with future recognition.

My daughter enjoyed this book too! Her first choice is not the music fairies but she still enjoys hearing about the Characters and what they do.
