5.0 out of 5 stars one of the most respected leading men in films today, August 6, 2001
What more can be said about this man who came from humble beginnings...each film he undertakes is another step into the realm of "motion picture history".

Sean Connery is a living legend, even after stepping down from the role of "007" (James Bond), his career has taken off and like a runaway-team-of-horses, has never stopped to look back.

Let's look at Sean's lifes work through the magic of music, film scores that have said it all ~ "THE NAME OF THE ROSE" (1986), features good synthesized performances due to the credit of James Horner ~ "THE(FIRST)GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY" (1978), Jerry Goldsmith's playful orchestral piece ~ "THE ROCK"(1996), a moving score by Hans Zimmer who also gave us "Backdraft", completely pulls out all the stops on this one.

Now for the stand outs ~ "MARNIE"(1964), very crisp performance that would make composer Bernard Herrmann very proud ~ "ROBIN & MARIAN"(1976), a haunting theme composed by John Barry, difficult score to come by ~ "FIRST KNIGHT"(1995), as King Arthur once again, features a memorable love theme by Jerry Goldsmith ~ and finally "THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER"(1990), is the highlight with the Crouch End Festival Chorus (in english) and David Temple (conductor), performing "The Hymn To Red October, is a real treat.

This is a "film-score-buffs" dream...most of this material is hard to come by...The City of Prague Philharmonic conducted by Paul Bateman and Nic Raine make this a must have for your collection...many Goldsmith selections are featured with unforgettable performances...so film score collectors buy it, spin it and sit back and enjoy a tribute to legendary film star ~ SEAN CONNERY!

Total Time: 68:27 on 19 Tracks ~ Silva Screen SSD-1069 ~ (1998)
