This review is from: Music by Gershwin: Piano Solos (Paperback)
This is a truly wonderful collection for everyone from beginner to advanced musician. It contains many of Gershwins popular works, but also the full score of Rhapsody in Blue. I recommend this collection to all wanting to learn about the great master and his music, regardless of your current level of play.

Music by Gershwin created by George W. Cooke,
This review is from: Music by Gershwin: Piano Solos (Kindle Edition)
This fresh and intriguing collection was actually the idea of George W. Cooke,
editor-in-chief of the University Society of New York City and Midland Park, NJ. He researched the sources, selected the compositions, obtained copyright permissions, uncovered historic photographs in the Lincoln Center Library. He wrote the introduction to the book and the notes appearing before each composition. and commissioned Adrian Rappin to design the cover with an original painting. In his "colletivist" phase, he gave credit for the work to his entire editorial team, although the work was essentially his. The discography at the end of the book was prepared by one of his editors. He later sold reprint rights to Warner Bros. Music, and that company printed both hardcover and paperback editions. This is an oversize 9" x 12" volume (hardcover) printed on very heavy 60 lb. book paper manufactured by the Warren Paper Company of Boston, MA, and is Smyth sewn. The book was printed in Reno, Nevada, by the George Banta Co. The strong, durable cover is of specially coated DuPont Tyvek (spun olefin) manufactured by the Wyomising Corporation of Reading, PA and the artist's colors are protected by a coat of clear lacquer applied in San Francisco, CA. The book has matching headbands with 80 lb. antique lemon yellow endsheets by Process Materials Corp. of Cardstadt, NJ. The titles are die stamped in foil on cover and spine.

You'll LOVE this book!,

This review is from: Music by Gershwin: Piano Solos (Paperback)
If you like Gershwin's music, you'll love this book! It has some of his best classical piano music as well as some of his vocal tunes, complete with vocal score and accompaniment. This book provides real pictures of Gershwin and interesting information on many of his songs. These are real classical/pop/jazz cross-over tunes and a fun book!
My mother purchased this book for me many years ago, and it is still in print! My students love it! This is a GREAT price for a book such as this.
