So much potential, but falls short,

GTAIV the game has an incredible soundtrack that includes a wide range of good music. There ought to be a boxed set with a CD covering each musical radio station. But since there isn't, I looked to this soundtrack cd to give a good representation of the games' music, and I don't think it lives up to potential. For one thing, I would have hoped for at least one selection from each radio station. Some of the stations are not even represented here. Second, for the stations they do cover, in my opinion they didn't necessarily choose the best songs from those stations. Some of the tracks that are included really do belong here, like Soviet Connection (the theme song), Vagabond (very familiar, because of the TV commercials), and Stand Up Jamrock (definitely the best track on the radio station it represents). But then there are some jaw dropping omissions. Probably the most noteworthy ommission is Arm In Arm Shy Child Mix by The Boggs. This is another track highly familiar from GTAIV commercials and one of the first songs that would come to mind when people think about the music of GTAIV. Listen to a clip and if you've seen the commercials you will recognize it, and associate it with the game, immediately.
The album is too short, doesn't include enough of this great library of songs, doesn't represent the wide variety of stations, and doesn't always mean getting the cream of the crop. I recommend digitally downloading individual tracks, including each of the aforementioned songs plus one from each station, and any other of your favorites. That would make for the ultimate GTAIV music collection.

Fela Kuti FTW,

I didnt grab the full album but it was a great find to see Fela Kuti's Zombie on here for less than $10, lol I feel so cheap now but hey I am. Stand up Jamrock is an interesting mix that I find to be a great listen and The free Soviet Connection track is nothing to gripe about either. This seems like a great deal and Fela Kuti alone makes this album worth the $9 but 99c wasnt too bad either. If i didnt previously own a good chunk of this music this would be a good purchase, however the lack in song amount is a bit discouraging.

It's OK if you like all the rap stuff,

Since I don't care a lot for rap, that seems to be on the album the most. I was happy that I could import my own MP3s. Too much good stuff left off.

Agree with previous review, there are some glaring omissions. Where, for example, is Schweine by Glukoza? That was probably the second most memorable song in the entire game and I was disappointed not to find it on the list.

The variety and quality of the music in the game is fantastic. Lots of great stuff and a very good way to get introduced to new upcoming artists.
