OUT OF THIS WORLD BEAUTIFUL!, October 25, 1999
By A Customer
I've been practising Yoga for many years and have several CD's that I used regularly, that is until I heard NADA YOGA, one of the 4 CD's in this box. This is close to magical, it just makes time disappear. The other CD's (MUSIC FOR REJUVENATION, AH, THE HEALING VOICE and AYURVEDA, MOVING IN TIME) are also great but you'll understand my preference! Great quality of sound and extensive notes and exercices in the booklets make this one of the most rewarding set of CD's either for inner practise, healing or just listening pleasure!

Where do they come up with this drivel?, May 25, 2003
This is a very dissapointing set of Cds. The only tollerable selection is the Nada Yoga CD.
The Nagler Cd is on the right track, but poorly crafted is the lack of cohesive musical syntax. The selection and balance of instruments has promise, but the use of a non-accoustic piano ruined it for me.
The Ah disk was an exercise in "formless minimalisn" but was so formless in its lack of resolution that the effect was very agitating - not healing or balanceng.
The remaining Cd meant to explore the doshas is an exploration of ignorance. For someone who has a PhD is music and has taught forms and analysis, theory, and has had a performance career, I would have expected much better. It sounds as if she never got to play in the accoustics lab at school so she is doing so now. Again, horrible syntax. If one is going to attempt a form, or decide to be formless, in composition and performance one MUST resolve and segue competantly. Also, all the sounds are synthesized sounds, thus incomplete wave forms and therefore, doubtful in their therapeutic value.
As one who has two degrees in music myself and 12 years teaching and performance experience, I am incredulous as to how these people thought these offerings were acceptable. As also a degreed naturopath and Massage therapist and Acupuncturist, I find very little that could be construed as music therapy except in the Nada Yoga cd. I feel that the editors at the ditributing company are out of their comfort zone and not paying attention, or that they are severly insulting their clientelle's intelligence, thereby detracting credibility from the discipline of music therapy. I would recommend purchsing the Nada Yoga cd, but not as a part of this set. It is sold singly and is well worth it.
