5.0 out of 5 stars Just Another Reason To Love Brian
Why hasn't this man won a grammy yet? It's just not fair! This video gives Brian fans like myself just another reason to love him. He is so very awesome. 3.0 out of 5 stars Nice DVD
I actually expected more on this DVD. I don't believe this DVD did much justice to Brian's musical skills and talent, but it's an ok DVD to pass time when you have nothing else to do.

This is a wonderful release and well worth the money. Love you, Brian!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is Brian McKnight at his Best!!!, November 20, 2001

Any Fan of Brian or R&B Music has to get this! Wonderful scenic scapes, and Brian McKnight singing some of his greatest songs unplugged with Band or just to the sound of himself playing the guitar. I'm a big B. McKnight Fan from Germany and I hope to see more Releases like this from i.e. Joe, because I rate him to be as much as a virtuoso as Brian. Keep Up the good work!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST, September 16, 2001
This review is from: Music in High Places - Brian McKnight (Live from Brazil) (DVD)
As usual Brian shines through in this live performance. You find out REALLY quickly how good a singer/musician is when you take away the acoustics, lights, and fancy things and toss the artist out there there with almost nothing. Brian is AMAZING. I was waiting for this special to come out so PICK IT UP!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY WONDERFUL, April 9, 2003

This review is from: Music in High Places - Brian McKnight (Live from Brazil) (DVD)
Late one evening I caught the airing of this performance (why was it never on prime time?) and have been searching for the CD ever since. I'm so happy that it went to DVD!!

I've had the privilage of seeing him live 2x, and this DVD really captures what a talented and insightful musician he is. Plus set in beautiful Brazil, with his own candid comments about his music and what it means to him. One of the most memorable parts is when he talks about playing a song the way HE wants to play it, not just because everyone is telling him to play it exactly like the album represents it. The new interpretations of old favorites (and new ones) are not to be missed!!

Brilliant!

I truly enjoyed watching this video. It captured the life of people living in Brazil and some of the country's history. The beautiful landscape mixed with Brian's voice was wonderful to see and listen to. His voice was beautiful, just as it is at his concerts. The music sound very clear and close to accapella. I enjoyed this video and have watched it twice since I bought it about a month ago. You definitely should watch this if you are a Brian McKnight fan. It is very soothing and relaxing and you feel like you are there with him and on vacation. Such a carefree video and he was in his usual fun loving and down to earth form. Buy it, I think you will love it too!

5.0 out of 5 stars The mix of McKnight's acoustic versions of his various hit songs combined with the lush tropical backdrop is perfectly "in tune", August 11, 2009
This review is from: Music in High Places - Brian McKnight (Live from Brazil) (DVD)
I saw this on MTV a few years ago and fell in love with it. I waited what seemed like even longer for it to be out on DVD. The mix of McKnight's acoustic versions of his various hit songs combined with the lush tropical backdrop is perfectly "in tune". A must have for Brian McKnight fans! And it really stands up to repeat viewings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Superb, musically. Commentary, not so much..., February 1, 2009

This review is from: Music in High Places - Brian McKnight (Live from Brazil) (DVD)
I've been a fan of BM's music since I first heard "One Last Cry" on the radio. "Never Felt This Way" remains my favorite song from him.

Brian Mcknight is the complete musician and his talent and skill truly shine when given to us in it's purest form. Unfortunately, his religious commentary regarding the locals was not only arrogant but completely without any hard facts to back it up.

We all know perfect things aren't necessarily created by perfect people so don't let this take away from the sheer beauty of the music on this DVD. I've always been a fan of Mel Gibson movies but he's said some pretty stupid things the last half decade, too. :P
