Music For A Land, September 25, 1999
This review is from: Music Inspired By the Group of 7 (Audio CD)
Commissioned by our National Gallery, (who, quite surprisingly, recognized what a treasure the RHEOSTATICS are, not just to Canadians, but the world, being it's absolute best band), these pieces were meant to represent everything far and wide (hee hee), Canadian; from our expansive landscapes and weather patterns to our national sport, hockey, to our own contribution to the world of art and writing. The purest form of concept albums: undilluted art from Canada's hardest working band, who deserve a tidal wave more of attention than they get. If ever a piece represented a land and it's people, this is it.
A flawless masterpiece that demands to be listened to in a single sitting.
