1.0 out of 5 stars Where did the fun go?
Today's Sit-N-Spins are nearly half the size they were when I was a kid--and it's not just because I got bigger that it looks smaller. My son got one for his second birthday, and he is too big for it! He is not overweight, he is within normal height range for his age group. The base is not wide enough--there is not enough room between the handle base and the edge of...

I recently purchased this toy for my daughter's third birthday. She has played with a regular sit'n spin in our church nursery for several months. The toy in our nursery has "survived" its original owner and many other children for several years. However, after only two days of play, the music & lights sit'n spin we purchased broke apart. The handle the child turns the sit'n spin by came out of the base while my daughter was riding. Though this toy is a great amount of fun for kids, the construction of this newer model does not appear to be as durable of the original model. If construction is not altered, perhaps the age guidelines should be readjusted to exclude older children.

5.0 out of 5 stars My kids Loved it., October 28, 2000

My kids loved this sit and spin toy. Countless hours of spinning. Made me dizzy jsut watching, tho I wish they made these for adults. After they finished with their spins, watching them try to walk afterwards was quite the humor. This is the first toy they would run to everyday when they woke up. Also is good exercise for their arms and hands.

We bought this toy for our toddler for Christmas, and she hasn't gotten it yet, but one of her friends has it and they fight over it. Her friend can't be still for more than 10 minutes, but will play on this for hours. It plays 9 different songs, and does the traditional sit and spin rotation. I think it is better than the old sit and spin.

I have an almost 3 year old and he had played with this toy at daycare so when I seen it here, I had to buy it.It is very durable and the musical sounds on it add to the fun of the toy.I highly recommend it if you have a 2-4 year old.My son can't stay off of it.

This toy is still as fabulous as it was when we parents first took a spin on it years ago. I received this as a gift for my 18 month old son at Christmas time and he was able to get the hang of it within minutes. The toy is great for balance, fine and gross motor development and is appropriate for both boys and girls of nearly any age. (Being a petite mom, I even tried it out to demonstrate the technique for my son and it performed admirably...) It does not require a lot of space, special skill, or additional accessories, making it an ideal gift for nearly every kid. -- Best of all, now that we are well into the cold winter months, this toy provides a safe and much needed indoor (as well as outdoor) outlet for physical play.

5.0 out of 5 stars I had one when I was a kid!!, September 25, 2001

My parents bought this for my 3 yr old son. We put it together and sat him on it. At first, we were all very irritated because it didn't spin well at all and looked like the 'wheel' would break right off. Then, the adults got a clue and took his off the thick carpet and onto to tile in the kitchen. He went to town on that thing and laughed until he fell off. Here's my dilemma; the tile is VERY hard. I'd recommend this toy, but you have to find the right surface for smaller children. Not too thick to frustrate them, and not too hard if they fall off from dizziness.
My 1 yr old son loves to stand on the carpet and push the song button. He holds onto the toy and dances like crazy. So, it fits a desire for both my 3 and 1 yr old.

Santa brought this for my 19-mo daughter last Christmas. She loves it, and so does her 4-yo brother. My toddler loves to stand & spin, and she loves the music. I find the sight of her spinning and bopping amusing enough that the corny, repetitive music doesn't bother me much. The music can't be shut off or turned down, but somehow, the volume is low enough that it doesn't interfere with others in the room watching TV. Both kids have tipped it over a few times or fallen off of it, so have yours use it up on a non-plush carpet with a few feet of clearance around it in all directions. We keep it in a corner and drag it to the middle of the room when desired. It's nice to have an indoor toy that gets them using their body a little bit, even if it's not exactly exercise. A nice change of pace, especially on bad-weather days.

We bought this for our son for Christmas when he was 13 months old. At first he would play the music and loved that but I had to turn the base for him when he sat on it. He is now 19 months old and still loves to play with it. He is now able to spin himself, but not very fast yet. My 5 year old son also likes to play on it (so do the younger neighbor kids). My 5 year old is average size and still has a lot of fun, it doesn't seem terribly small - he just sits "indian style" on it. You do have to be a little careful though, the base does spin easily when toddlers stand on it and my son has fallen a couple of times (but no injuries).

I got this for my daughter when she was about 18 months old, and she LOVES it still, five months later. She's an old pro now, can go so fast that she doesn't even need me to help. At first when she couldn't go fast enough herself, I would help her, but she learned to FLY within a month! I like the music aspect of it too, it makes it like two toys in one.

My son received this for his first birthday. He loves this toy. He is unable to work it, but he enjoys the music and watching his two year old sister really spin. They have spent hours laughing and playing. I love this toy because it helps them both develop their gross motor skills and the music is very soft (unlike many toys that make noise these days). I've been very happy with this gift!
