The ultimate Barney Kessel album...................., March 1, 2002

1956 was the year in which Barney Kessel received just about every music award short of the Pulitzer Prize...and this album is a direct reflection of that. And, it is just as compelling a 'read' today as it was back then...... a 'must have' for any serious fan of jazz guitar. He not only does the playing, ( with help from such greats as Buddy Clark, Shelly Manne, Andre Previn, Buddy Collette, Jimmy Rowles and more ! ) the great arrangements are his own as well. He does it all. 'nuf said.
The remastered CD is the frosting on the cake. Track it down. It's out there.

What a pleasure to listen to and remember the: Music to listen to Barney Kessel by. I had the vinyl of same when a very young man and the magic of reliving the Barney Kessel CD made and continues to make my day. Top marks to Amazon.com for enabling people like me to remember and enjoy the music of our youth.
