The Music Man From Norway is an historical novel that follows the life of a musician from Norway who brought music to the Dakota prairies at the turn of the century. At that time there was neither radio, television, nor movies, and Professor Andrew Indseth helped fill the need for entertainment. This musician organized and led many men's choruses, bands and orchestras and gave instrumental and vocal instruction. It was an interesting time of Chautauquas and concerts, with citizens of all ages taking part.

About the Author
Doris Stensland has published five books: Haul the Water, Haul the Wood; Ole's Promise; Country Style - Living the Farm Life; and Vaer saa god - Come and Eat, as well as contributions to Love of the Land and Prairie Faith, Pioneering People. Doris Stensland was born and has lived her entire life in Lincoln County, in southeastern South Dakota, the locale for most of The Music Man from Norway, Haul the Water, Haul the Wood and Ole's Promise.
