This mobile saved my sanity!!,

This review is from: Music In Motion Developmental Mobile W Remote (Baby Product)
Our twins loved the mobile that came with their bedding ensemble, but it was wearing me out. Whenever I wound it up, the loud cranking noise would wake up the other baby. And winding it up every 2 minutes until they were both asleep was utterly exhausting. When we received this Sassy Music in Motion mobile as a gift, I was immediately excited about the 10 minute music feature and remote control. At night, I can tiptoe to the nursery at the first sign of movement & use the remote control to turn on the ocean waves sound, which lulls them right back to sleep. And if Mommy needs a few minutes to herself during the day, they both love the lay in their cribs listening to the cheery musical selections and cooing at the visually stimulating toys. As an added bonus, the toys detatch from the mobile as rattles and the music box can remain in the crib long after they're too old for a mobile. We loved this product so much that when we moved the twins into separate cribs, we bought ANOTHER Sassy mobile!

This mobile will keep your baby entertained,
By A Customer

My baby LOVES this mobile! It is a guaranteed 20 minutes of fun for her every day. The toys are wonderful, at 2 months, you can turn them over to a more complex side and it becomes a "new" toy for your baby. Our baby wakes up in the morning smiling and kicking, just looking at it. It will again be a fun "new" toy when she outgrows the mobile part and the toys detach to become rattles and the music box can stay on her crib.My only complaint is that the rattles are noisy if you bump into the crib or if she kicks the railing when she is sleeping. The remote control is also a nice feature so you don't have to go into the room, but she loves to play with us while she watches it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Our daughter has severe reflux, her tummy always hurts her and she cries constantly. This mobile gives me the longest moments of peace. She loves to look at the toys (which face the baby, as they should!) and we periodially turn them over (there's a different design on each side) to hold her interest. When she gets a little older, the toys come off so she can play with them. I read a lot of complaints, but this mobile doesn't run very noisily. I suspect they have altered the way the motor is being made, we have had no problems with it at all and it fit our crib easily. (It is adjustable, we have thick slats.) My only complaint, if one could call it that, is that the remote does have to be facing the mobile and be within a specific range, but since I always check on her when it stops anyway, this is probably more by design than accident. It's an attractive, engaging toy with two music choices and a white noise feature, which is heaven-sent, because we have five children and the other four are less than considerate of the baby. I recommend this product!

Sassy Music In Motion,

I just love the Music in Motion by Sassy. We had a traditional mobile that winds and was pastel colors. After 2 minutes you had to keep winding it, what a pain when you want to get things done and leave the baby in the crib. Music in Motion plays for 10 minutes and my 3 month old daughter just loves the bright colors and sounds. She will lay in her crib for an hour at a time and talk and coo and kick her feet. She absolutley love it!! I dont know what I would do without it! When she gets older you can take off the toys and use them as rattles too. I would recommend this to everyone I know that is having a baby, its a neccessity. As for the remote I dont really use it much, the nursery is small and you have to have it pointed just the right way to make it work.

A must-have,

I have a 3-month old and we initially bought her the traditional wind up mobile to match her nursery. It would not hold her attention. When she was 2 months old we bought her this wonderful contraption! She loves it. This is the first toy that she talked to. She will lie in her crib and chatter away at it. This mobile plays music for ten minutes straight which is absolutley wonderful since we were used to cranking her old one every two minutes. This allows me to do small chores around the house while she enjoys her new mobile. And this one is remote control! Need I say more? When she goes to Grandma's, this is a necessity just like her diaper bag! This is a definite must-have!

My 3-month-old still takes great delight in the simpler side of the two-sided rotating toys. He laughs & waves his arms and legs at them as they go around. He also likes to be picked up to see the other, more complex side from outside the crib. The music is great, too. The Bach minuet helps him calm down & go to sleep or just enjoy being in his crib. The medley of 3 folk tunes (Mockingbird, Frere Jacques, Rockabye Baby) gives us enough of each tune for a cribside sing-along. We have lots of fun with this mobile.

Entertaining & Captivating as mobiles should be,

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:1) Bright colors 2) Multiple patterns on the hanging ornaments 3) Ornaments can be removed & played with as separate toys 4) Ornaments can be moved around to other arms to create different pattern arrangements (both ornament & each arm has different patterns & colors). 5) Each ornament has two sides, one is a bit less complex for the newborn's eyes, then flip the ornament around to a more dynamic view when she's older. 6) Multiple electronic sounds (I think 4-5 short songs & white noise). Also occasional, light 'rattle' sounds when the arms rotated & gently shook the ornaments. 7) Movement - a slow turn that stops briefly at each quarter turn so the baby can study the toy that is currently above her then follow it as it moved away. 8) Remote control that you can use from the door to prevent you from disturbing baby's alone-time. 9) About 8-10 min of playing time per use before need to press a button again. 10) Batteries seem to be lasting -though we use it less often than others might. We've probably use this mobile 2-4 times a week for about 10 min each time - daytime only (baby sleeps with us). We use it occasionally when we needed a break from carrying her (I wear a baby sling). I'm writing this review at baby's age 3 months. We followed directions & used the simpler side of the ornament the first couple months. Later, I noticed her interest fading and after some thought we realized that she couldn't see the opposite side of the ornament with the beads & see-through plastic, much more exciting for her now-developed eyes. We flipped the ornament over & she was captivated again. This unit seems to hold her attention until it stops it's 8-10 min cycle... that's where the remote is handy if you need a bit more time - just re-click it (before it stops & she starts complaining!) to keep it running another cycle. Also - a couple reviews mentioned difficulty with the remote. This may be because there is a laser ligt on one end of the remote & you have to point that side ONLY toward the unit to activate. If you are not pointing the remote correctly, it won't work at all (just like a laser tv remote). Per another reviewer's comments, I intend to remove the ornaments to let my baby play with them separately after she gets too tall for the mobile to hang in the crib. I may leave the music box in there soley for the white noise since I prefer the sound of cd-quality music over that electronic baby stuff.

Smarter than the average mobile,
This review is from: Music In Motion Developmental Mobile W Remote (Baby Product)
I love stuff that has more than one purpose. It makes parting with our hard-earned money that much easier. This mobile fills that need quite nicely. First of all, it's a great mobile. The hangy things (that being the technical term) are two-sided. One simple side for younger babies, and a more complex side for the older set. The pieces also come right off and serve as rattles. (Great for diversion on the changing table.) When baby is old enough to sit, you can remove the arm and keep the music box portion in the crib. The only thing I don't like about the mobile is the fact that those fabulous rattles I was raving about make noise if you bump them. And while that is great if you have baby in there for entertainment, I have accidently bumped it while trying to put down a sleeping boy. Ooops! Make sure you swing the arm out of the way so that doesn't happen. Anyway, this is a great product, and well worth the price. Enjoy!

What can I say - our little girl adores her mobile. It has helped us settle her into sleep at night and has given us a few extra minutes to get things set-up in the morning when she starts to wake. As a product I can't say enough about it. It is well made and has some features that we found extremely thoughtful:1) The motion stops every few seconds to give the baby a chance to focus. After a few seconds it starts to move again. That's it - I don't normally write reviews, but this product seemed to deserve one. Couldn't be happier. Peter.

Great Mobile,
By A Customer
This review is from: Music In Motion Developmental Mobile W Remote (Baby Product)
I quite like this mobile. My two-month-old is absolutely fascinated by it, and stays preoccupied for up to 30 minutes. Sometimes if I lift her out of the crib while the mobile is still running, she turns her head and tries to look at it as long as possible. Heck, I like looking at it too. No, it doesn't match the pink bunny crib set, but how stimulating would it be if everything baby saw were pastel? =) Overall a great mobile. There are three different sound options: Bach's Minuet in G, ocean waves (which sound more like rhymic white noise -- if you just heard it, you wouldn't guess it was suppose to be the ocean), and nursery songs ("Rock-a-bye Baby", "Hush Little Baby" and "Frere Jacques"). The mobile plays for ten minutes: about eight minutes at one volume, then softer and softer for the remaining two. Having a remote is definitely handy, but the range is short (seven or eight feet) and it has to be pointed exactly at the base. Strangely, when we got our mobile, the remote didn't work. A few weeks later when we tried it again, it seemed to work fine. |
