What an outstanding album !!!! We saw him this past fall in concert and he played two of the songs off this ... his new album. We knew then we wanted it when it finally would get released. All 12 songs are outstanding. From "Do You Remember?" (an outstanding salsa melody) to "You" ( a tear-jerking ballad). Mr. Sedaka takes you on a musical excursion. He even returns to his roots with a doo-wop ditty called "Right or Wrong". If you love Neil Sedaka, you have to own this album. Even if you don't, it is worth every penny spent on it. Thank you, Mr. Sedaka!

This album is a must for Sedaka fans as well as those new (are there any who are not already fans) to this marvelous singer, songwriter. The songs cover many genres and are absolutely fantastic. Since I own almost every one of his albums and have seen him in concert over 10 times, I had to have this album. It is absolutely fantastic and worth so much more than I paid for it. Five stars is not a high enough rating for this excellent album.

I ordered three copies of this CD after watching Neil with Mike Huckabee. What a classy performer. I sent the CD's to my sisters as a Valentine's Day gift - perfect music for such a romantic day. Neil is still going strong!!

I love all of Neil Sedaka's music and his lengthy career is legendary touching on a multitude of styles of music. I was introduced to his music in the 70s when he became a huge pop success in a totally different way from his oldies style music. His pop rock provided LAUGHTER IN THE RAIN and my favorite LOVE IN THE SHADOWS. After this introduction to his music I got all his old stuff and followed his later career as well.

Here, now, we have adult contemporary Sedaka that is just as strong, pure and magical as the best of his work. It is reminiscent of his 70s work but if you are a Sedaka fan you know that whatever style he tackles you get his honesty, sincerty, musicality and pure passion all the way. This cd has tunes of the highest quality and could have come out in his prime. It is such a huge welcome to have a whole cd of brand new, origina music.

Neil could have rested on his laurels here but instead provides quality music for all his fans. The set begins with the calypso style DO YOU REMEMBER. We also have the haunting LIVING IN A FANTASY. A FOOL IN LOVE and in particular I GOT TO BELIEVE IN ME AGAIN provide the uptempo, feel good magic that only Neil Sedaka can provide. RIGHT OR WRONG is a doo wop style gift to his oldies fans and the title track THE MUSIC OF MY LIFE and HOW CAN I CHANGE YOUR MIND are both beautiful, heartwrenching ballads.

The Sedaka touch is still alive and well and this cd is a gift to all his fans. Hopefully another will soon follow. I can't recommend this cd enough. For those who have fallen under the Sedaka spell over the years, whatever the musical genre, you will be thrilled with this. Sedaka still rules.

I'm no self-professed music critic. I enjoy listening to Sedaka's smooth voice and to the beautiful arrangements on this album. This album is not the 60's; it has its own personality. A few songs give off the 'Oh Carol' vibe and some have a more modern twist. All the songs are entertaining. I am blown away by the fact that Sedaka wrote all these songs; the lyrics are poetry. Listen to 'Waiting.' If you have been separated from someone dear to you, waited for someone you care about to return from war, famine or flood, 'Waiting' expresses how you feel during those periods of longing. I admit I get a little misty when it plays. Several of the songs are quite moving and channel how all of us feel. Go with the music, listen to his emotional lyrics. It's a very good feeling album.

A Great CD. Wish it were longer. It contains new songs, but the Sedaka sound is still there and brings back memories.

I have been a fan of Neil Sedaka for many years and can't believe the purity of his voice still. I chose this C.D.
after seeing him on Mike Hukkabee show. It was so personal, it was like he was playing and singing the music
of MY life. He still has the magic, and I hope he keeps on composing and pleasing us with his songs.

This was truly a treat to listen to. Neil does even better than he sang in our younger days - which was wonderful. The songs are new but they are written in different styles like the music we have listened to through the years. This is an EXCELLENT CD.

I guess I'm going to be the sour note here. On one hand, these songs are vintage Sedaka. There are several that if I heard them and didn't realize they were Sedaka tunes, I'd think they were. And what is remarkable about this album is the purity of Neil's voice at the age of 71! Remarkable. There are two standout recordings here -- both ballads -- "The Music Of My Life" and "You", both of which are as fine as any songs Sedaka has ever penned.

So why only 3 stars? The orchestrations here are clearly done "on the cheap", with only himself as backup "singers". In this sense, they cannot compare to his orchestrations from the 70s.

He's a remarkable entertainer, and I hope this is not his final album. He deserves orchestrations that match a talent that still soars in his seventh decade.

I've been a fan of Neil Sedaka from the first time I heard Oh Carol on the radio. When I saw he had a new CD out, I went to Amazon and listned to the songs and couldn't believe my ears. He sounds just like he did when I heard Oh Carol on the radio back in the 60's. He is probably the most talented performer from the 60's to date. This Cd is just great. From the up tempo songs to the beautiful ballads, his voice is better than ever. Just a great cd. If your a fan you must get this CD and if your not, nows to time to become one. I hope he continues to record new cd's for us to enjoy.
