This book was terrific, but my only complaint was the ending. I felt like I missed a chapter! What happened to Laura's parents? Did they think she was dead? Did they know she was at the mental hospital? Didn't Cary go look for her after she and Robert failed to come back to shore?

Anyway, I still enjoyed it. Laura and Robert's love was so real, I think I almost fell in love with him myself. I thought for sure at first that Cary was going to kill Robert by intentionally throwing him overboard on the boat. :-) I have to read the books before this. As usual, I love anything VC Andrews writes.

This book was well-written and I was glad that a book came out in the Logan family series to explain the whole Cary-Laura issue. However, the first three novels in this series were about Melody and it didn't feel like it really ended; then this book came out, and then Olivia. This wasn't the "norm" for V.C. Andrews books. I would recommend this book to those who have read the previous books in the Logan family series and would like to know more about the Cary-Laura relationship and what really happened. Otherwise, the Logan family series is for the most part a waste of time.

I loved this whole series, and to talk about Laura so much in the other books just made her a mystery! This book was great, in telling Laura's side of the story, and it was so unexpected!

It was within the first paragraph of "Melody" that I realized the quality of V.C. books were on a steady decline (though it hadn't started with this one, but with "Hidden Jewel" and not because the story wasn't good, but because the writing was awful, lacking the exquisite detail of Ruby and Gabrielle's stories, and read like a rush job).

Another blight on this series is that it broke with tradition, entitling the last book, the prequel, with the name of the main character, in this case, "Olivia". What happened to "Muted Voices"?

Anyway, I remembered this book having captured a bit of the magic of V.C.'s earlier works, and I enjoyed reading about Laura's experience in the mental facility for the privileged.

I don't really have much to say about this book except that the story was interesting, though Laura herself wasn't a very interesting character. Heaven Casteel and Cathy Dollanganger are the only main characters who really seem to have much of a personality besides being pretty and sweet. Too many of the daughters--Annie Stonewall, Christie Longchamp and Pearl Andreas, mainly--are like the same character, reincarnated. A story has to be very good to make up for the lack of an interesting protagonist, and the ghostwriter was able to do it with this one, what he hadn't been able to do with the first three books that revolve around Melody.

And I have no recollection of Olivia's story at all, so that should tell you something.

At least the ghostwriter used a famous (though sometimes overused and contrived, but favorite of many writers and one of mine) plot device that set this book apart from any other V.C. books written thus far--amnesia.

I do think the ghostwriter would do better to put as much thought into naming his secondary characters as he does his primary. They don't sound as well-thought out and sound like they've been pulled out of a hat.

I kept expecting Laura to run into her aunt Belinda in the facility, which was a disappointment, for it just seems too obvious of a plot point to ignore, like when a certain, seemingly important character is mentioned, and then is never heard from again.

I started this series with Melody and I think i read half of the next book and then read part of Olivia and I just couldn't take it cause those books were horrible. And then I read this book and I thought it started out slow but it got so good after the accident happened and she lost her memory. Nothing like that had happened to a VC Andrews girl before so I thought it was a good change and it was such a sad ending. It was MUCH better than the books i have read from the Logan series, I will eventually reread the ones i have and read the others.

This is the fourth book written by V.C.Andrews that I have ever read. I thought that this book was quite interesting because it told Laura's story. It showed how she lived and what her feelings were on life. The only downfall to this book was that they should of had this book be the first book of the series. This would of been enough to encourage the reader to keep reading the series to find out about Lauras Grandmother, and Cary. But other then that this book was excellent! It told how Laura died and how she lost her memory. Then it told that at the end she got to be with the love of her life that she lost because her grandma told her that they were not allowed to see each other anymore.

I Liked this book because it was realistic about teenage life and deciet and secrets. It was beatifully tragic and very intriging.

I read this book a few years ago, it was the 4th VC andrews book I read, and I liked it the best then. I went on to read basically every single one out then I was browsing around amazon and decided to buy it and read it again, I loved it this time too! This book is wonderful because it shows the true emotions of what a teenager feels like when there in love, and the real life pressures a teen has, I loved this book and it is still my favorite vc andrews book! Definitly buy it.

The reason I choose this book is because the title seemed interesting. The cover was so mysterious and enchanting I just had to pick up this book. To me this book just became so enticing that I began to read the back and after that I could not put it down. So this is why I picked out this book to read.
The main character in this book is Laura Logan. All Laura wants is to have a normal life. She has a twin brother named Cary and a deaf sister named Mary. Her brother gets so jealous if he sees her with a guy or if a guy looks at her. She's in her senior year of high school and still has no boyfriend, until Robert comes and doesn't care what Cary would do to him.
The reason I like this book is because it is kind of story that brings you to the edge of your seat and keeps asking you questions like; what's going to happen next or why did they do this or that? This book is filled with excitement and fun. Another reason I like this book is because it is about action and reaction. The obsessions of humans and what happens when the obsessions get the best of human emotions. This book has love, jealousy and obsession. These reasons all tell you why I like this book.

Though it's hard to say, I think this book is my favorite of the Logan series. I thought it was a great touch to hear from Laura's point of view & hear her story rather than following the traditional V.C. "pattern" and writing about Haile. Laura is a very loveable character, and of course you know from the beginning a little of the story & that it will be sad. It is, I cry every time I read it! But it is very interesting and there is quite a few surprises & twists to the story that you'd never guess! Read it! It's AWESOME & worth every minute!!
