4.0 out of 5 stars wonderfully quirky sound mashing, August 2, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Music for the Odd Occasion (Audio CD)
Negativland evidently helped this project out, and within a track it's easy to see why--Antediluvian Rocking Horse look for sounds everywhere to put into their electronic stuff. Exercise records, the old video game Galaga, novelty '78s. It's electronic music that finds its place somewhere between Art of Noise and the brilliant slapdashery of Negativland. Notable tracks are "Ratus Sapiens" and "A Perry Mason Moment," and credit has to be given to the following track just for the title: "Whatever Happened to the People With Chairs Up Their Noses?"

This is electronic music you could maybe dance to (if you were having some kind of seizure), but moreso it's stuff to just kick back to and marvel and the layers of odd sounds they pull together.

4.0 out of 5 stars an odd, rocking horse, December 6, 2003

australian label psy-harmonics do it again. ollie olsen and gang, tear off the psychedelic trance world and into a mesh of psychedelia treats, ranging from crazy dance numbers to sofisticated fusion songs and samples.
if u can't find yourself in an odd occasion, move on. otherwise, this is one of the pioneers of psychedelic electronic music.

4.0 out of 5 stars TONS OF FUNNY NOISES, September 3, 2000
This review is from: Music for the Odd Occasion (Audio CD)
This album is great if you are drunk, tryin to get someone to leave your house, or in a silly mood. It has lots of funny samples, it kind of reminds me of Negativland on PCP. Lovely lovely lovely.
