5.0 out of 5 stars It really works!
I've had this CD for close to 2 years now. My wife and I listen to it every night (on repeat all night) and really miss it when we are travelling or forget to start the CD before going to bed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works most of the time
Before buying the Music to Promote to Sleep CD I listened to the sample mp3 songs on Amazon to make sure it is exactly as I want it to be. I want a beautiful, gentle, soothing and pleasant sound. I've had this CD for close to 2 years now. My wife and I listen to it every night (on repeat all night) and really miss it when we are travelling or forget to start the CD before going to bed.

What we've really noticed is, while it does help you sleep if you are having a bit of insomnia, where it really shines is the deepness or quality of sleep. When we sleep without it, it is as if we had been out sleeping on the hard ground. We got a good night's sleep, but just not deep, quality sleep.

It is hard to describe (wish they had put a sound clip or two up) but there is no melody or beat; the music slips into the background and you are completely unaware of it again until you awaken - you don't dream about the music itself.

We tried a different CD the other night and it just isn't the same.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works most of the time, December 9, 2010

Before buying the Music to Promote to Sleep CD I listened to the sample mp3 songs on Amazon to make sure it is exactly as I want it to be. I want a beautiful, gentle, soothing and pleasant sound. I bought the CD to replace the Universal Mind Meditation since the heavy bass or binaural beat bothers my ears. However, I was so disappointed to hear the heavy bass or binaural beat which I didn't hear when I sample online. I fall asleep listening most of the times with this CD but I don't think it is as effective as the Universal Mind Meditation. For the price I was hoping it is better and hoping that it is more pleasant without the bass.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blissful Sleep, February 24, 2006
This review is from: Music to Promote Sleep (Audio CD)
My husband got this for me to help me sleep. I have always had trouble falling asleep and staying there. I put this in my CD playing alarm clock and set the timer for its maximum on 90 minutes and make sure the disk repeats. I drift off and now will sleep peacefully all night long. I am looking forward to finding the other three disks to help with relaxation, concentration, and creativity.

With this CD I find that each song is very different and its only by the end of the CD I might fall asleep. It is very good for relaxation but not the best for trying to fall asleep. So my next CD was a winner! Music for Deep Sleep, Thunderstorm, Rain and Ocean Waves has one or two very long songs. Healing Sounds of Nature gets 5 Stars with me! It is very simple & it works! CD's with 3 or more songs will not work for trying to fall asleep because they are to busy on your Brain! Good Luck & Sweet Dreams.

This CD is amazing. I use headphones at night and listen to this CD. As my thoughts veer toward what a stressful day tomorrow might be, the music seems to invade those thoughts, and bring me back to relaxation, and I quickly drift off to sleep. I awaken only long enough to take my headphones off after it has stopped playing, and go right back to peaceful slumber. It is the best CD I have ever used!

4.0 out of 5 stars Give it time, July 12, 2009
This review is from: Music to Promote Sleep (Audio CD)
After suffering from sleep disorder for a few years, I tried this CD. The first 3 times I was jolted awake by a new louder song that followed a very quiet piece. Then I let the CD play through only once (not "looped"). Wow. What a difference. I don't remember hearing songs 5 or 6 and no new songs disturb me as I drifting off... Turning the volume down fairly low seems to have helped. Also, I use headphones overtop of earplugs (so my wife's snoring doesn't bother me). It is such a blessing to get some decent sleep!

Liquid Mind VIII Sleep is better at promoting sleep. This is fine for relaxation, in my opinion.

The mellow music reminds me of the relaxing tones played in spas. Takes me off to dreamland every night.

I thought this was an interesting concept. I was not disappointed with this one. Very calming. I hope it wasn't a placebo effect, but nevertheless, when I've played this before sleep I do rest a little better. Whatever works, right? :)

4.0 out of 5 stars sleep CD, November 18, 2010

I have a very hard time sleeping, getting there (sometimes) & going back to sleep when I wake up. I have this CD on "repeat" on my bedside CD player, & I am usually asleep before the end of the first playing of the CD. On a bad night I might make it half way through the second playing, but listening is very pleasant, relaxing, & helps your mind let go of thinking. The only minor distracting issue is that there are separate "songs" & if you are having trouble sleeping, the change from one to the next can be enough to arouse you momentarily. I usually don't use earphones, as they tend to disturb my sleep too. I would recommend it.
