5.0 out of 5 stars Fandango Nights is sublimely fantastic!!
As a typical baby boomer - age 47 now - I grew up on and still love Motown music, Beach Boys, Beatles, etc. But Willie & Lobo offer a complex selection of sophisticated music that is soothing, uplifting, inspired, and above all entertaining. 2.0 out of 5 stars Save your $$: This is a rehash
Maybe I missed it somewhere in the description of this CD, but every track on this CD is also on one of their other CDs. Since I already have "Fandango Nights" and "Between the Waters," buying this CD was a big waste of money. I listen to their music more than anything else now - and always while I'm on the computer. I chose Fandango Nights to be playing in the background during my Florida wedding last year. It is romantic, sensual, vivid, and great for dancing!

Maybe I missed it somewhere in the description of this CD, but every track on this CD is also on one of their other CDs. Since I already have "Fandango Nights" and "Between the Waters," buying this CD was a big waste of money. I love their music, but not only is this CD just a re-hash of their other CDs, but on this one they've teamed up with some hack novel writer. This self-important writer makes sure you read the opening paragraphs to his novel by printing them on the back cover of the CD, printing them inside the liner notes, and (get this) doing a voiceover of the same hackneyed paragraphs over the first track on the CD. Sheesh. Willie & Lobo would have done better to get rid of this writer and put out a CD of new material (or at least make it clear that this CD is an anthology of previously released tracks). Summary: The music is great (as usual), but if you already have any of their other CDs, bypass this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply The Best!, January 28, 2001
By
This review is from: The Music Of Puerto Vallarta Squeeze (Audio CD)
This is a terrific CD, whether or not the songs are from Puert Vallarta, and whether or not you have the songs on another of their CD's, it's a wonderful compilation. I find the music exotic and relaxing......guitar picking at it's best. It helps me regain my sanity on the commute home from work. (It makes you want to dance around with a rose in your teeth!) I've hooked my friends with this CD as a gift.

Just saw these guys last weekend and kicking myself all the way home that I didn't find them sooner~ Turn this CD on, and you will be swept away to the breezy sea air on the beautiful Banderas Bay in Puerta Vallarta...it's a relaxing siesta or a jazzy tango - you pick, the music will take you there!

I live in Mexico, and this music has nothing to do with Puerto Vallarta. It is more spanish. Still, it is goergeous. I love the first song, i think it is one of the most passionate songs i've ever dance to. I love it and i highly recommended. It brought shivers when i frist heard it and i've bought 4 for gifts!!!! LOVE IT.

If you have ever been to Puerto Vallarta, this music will make you call your travel agent. If you have never been there, this music will make you want to go. Willie and Lobo play from the heart, and that is where you will feel their unique blend of violin and guitar. Joanie Burnette

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanted music for the heart!, July 28, 1998

A charming and astonishing, original mix of Flamenco, Mexican, Gipsy and Arab themes and jazz woven into a sublime New Age delight. If I was working for Mesa - the publishing co. - I'd offer money back guarantee, well, maybe not :) This CD contains a great Willie & Lobo selection by Robert Waller (whoever Robert is I don;t know) - making the album a great intro to these wonderful Rockin' Gypsies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely wonderful!!, June 12, 1998

Prior to purchasing this CD, I have never heard of Willie and Lobo. I bought this CD in a used CD bin at the local music store. The cover caught my eye. I read the liner notes, and decided to make a purchase. I was so enthralled by their music. I keep it at work and play it all week. You never get tired of any of the tunes. I highly recommend it -- even if guitar music is not your thang.....!

This CD is a jewel! I was mesmerized when I first listened to it. Each song was better then the other. It is such a rarity to hear such magnificently charged music. They have created such a unique sound by combining the flamenco sounds of a guitar and the wonderful sounds of a violin. This CD will definitely become one of your most treasured.

5.0 out of 5 stars The album is based on the book Puerto Varllata Squeeze", July 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Music Of Puerto Vallarta Squeeze (Audio CD)
I have read the reviews for both the albumn and the book and the readers of the book don't know that there is an albumn nor do the people that purchased the CD know that there is a book with the same title. Robert James Walker wrote the book. He also wrote Bridges of Madison County.
