5.0 out of 5 stars Puts me to sleep! I love it!
I have been purchasing Steven Halpern's CD's for quite a while and now I have a nice little collection. This specific CD reminds me of a place you can go which is completely peaceful.

I love the healing compositions and the grand piano, electric piano, harp and flute. I really think the harp is what makes this so relaxing. It sounds silly, but you really...

2.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Rogers Neighborhood Meets New Age
I love ethereal, ambient, healing New Age. I have at least 250 CDs of this genre in my collection. This will not be #251. Do you remember the electronic piano/casio electric keyboard sound of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood? It is in most of the songs on this album. The few songs that don't have this are decent, but if you want truly healing, contemplative music, try Liquid...

It sounds silly, but you really think you are in heaven if you just close your eyes. This music just takes you away to a peaceful place. What it almost does is hypnotize you to sleep.

Dr. Weil also recommends music for healing. I can fell it working. If stress causes disease, which is does, then why not benefit from relaxing music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soothingly Peaceful, July 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Music for Sound Healing (Audio CD)
From the very first track, the music on this CD is soothing and calming, putting you in an immediately peaceful state. The music is created to respond to the seven chakras, the body's energy systems, providing harmony and relaxation to each energy center. A must have for anyone's music collection for healing and restoration.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this purple cd, October 14, 2005
This review is from: Music for Sound Healing (Audio CD)
I got this cd, quite by chance, one day and instantly loved it. I was in college at the time and I would play it loud along with my wall fan to drowned out the chaotic noises around. I ended up really loving this cd, as did my room-mate. We would put the cd on repeat and play it nonstop through out the day, and while we slept. It was great. My room mate was convinced that his asthma was alleviated from it.
We completely overplayed this cd, and never once got sick of it. We eventually lost it, or perhaps it was stolen. And some years later I found myself craving it again, even though as I said I/we overplayed this cd to the extreme. So if it can withstand being the background music for way too long, and still be craved later then it is a keeper.

I bought it again, and thankfully recorded the entire cd to my wife's Ipod...so it's safe from thieving college hands....although I think that our Jack Johnson, Cat Stevens, and Jay Z albums were much more highly sought. I don't know what happened to that cd, but I am glad that I bought another.
So what's the point of this review? Oh yeah...great relaxing music...you can definitely sleep, study, write, or read...or even...do massage...or 'other' activities. It is very versatile.
And it might help your asthma, or your IBS, or enhance your dreams...which are quite healing in thier own right.
Good music....Halpern's right up there with Dean Evenson, Enya, and Arkenstone in my book....all of his stuff is great..but i particularly love this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars "The Relaxation--Healing Connection", June 14, 2005
This review is from: Music for Sound Healing (Audio CD)
I have been, since the twelfth of May, 2005, attuned to the first level of Reiki Healer. I've been practicing on family without music as well as on myself. What is so amazing is I put this in and wasn't "trying" to do Reiki but it appears as soon as my aura "heard" this, I started literally beaming with Reiki! Reiki, by the way, is a healing therapy, kind of like a massage effect (relaxing, calming) but without any movements of hands, just touch in different locations on the body. I have always before "asked/prayed for" Reiki to begin flowing before but this cd radiated it through me instantaneously! Let me tell you, it was quite shocking and delightful to feel the flow of energy in my hands, pulsating, tingling, while cleaning the house, as I only put it on for background music! I felt blissful happy and unfathomably contented. I wish all the world could experience this feeling!

Somehow, Halpern's Music works to aid healing through Sound. Sound Healing. He says and I quote, "Using music to evoke "the relaxation response" is one of the simplest and most effective ways of all--but you must choose the right music! Historically, most music, including classical, was not composed for purpose of relaxation." Steven has so much to share and his writings are very interesting in each of his cd pamplets. One thing he recommends is that one listens "introspectively, with focused attention, and headphones. As you inhale, imagine that you are breathing in healing life energy. As you exhale, breathe out any tension. Now take a deep breath, close your eyes, and let the music carry you into your private oasis of serenity and inner peace."

I believe too many people in the world have sparse quiet time and the quiet time they do have is spent watching tv. Obviously there isn't anything wrong with tv but I think life should be more balanced, giving time to all the things you need and wish to do and relaxation and de-stressing should, for all our sanity, inner strength, and our relationships be utilized! Whatever you use this cd for, it is bound to do you some Good.

This cd is my first since being attuned that I feel I can use it with prayerful Reiki healing to get amazing results. I know that it opens the floodgate of "Healing Light" firsthand as I've already shared. (Even as I am writing this, my hands are beaming Reiki!) God bless you and may all find happiness, peace, comfort, contentment and healing for all that ails you. If you feel inclined, look into Reiki. No belief system is required to receive, I believe what Reiki really is, which is God's unconditional love poured into, through, and out of us! o8E

I am nuts over Mr. Halpern's music and uses for it. I just bought another one and wanted to mention how I loved it. It is called Music for Healing by Steven Halpern, Just came out this year and it was part of a box set called Sound Medicine. Nice and inexpensive for three CDs. Halpern makes great music and has a fan for life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Artist is a Shaman of Sound, April 6, 2010

I am not a fan of so-called new age music--who could take this always the same synthetic atmospheric crap seriously when there is so much wonderful classical music to exorcise your demons to. Let me tell you brothers and sisters I was wrong!

The artist is clear proof that if someone has 'it' then it will come through no matter what the medium. I listen to this regularly and whenever I feel taxed I can simply imagine certain 'strains' and begin to feel relaxed. If you've never felt a chakra open up then you might consider giving it a try.
