This review is from: Music in Special Education (Paperback)
As a music therapist, I frequently consult music teachers on using adaptations for a variety of populations. This is the most thorough and current source of information that I have. It provides a good balance of info for music therapists and music educators in all grade levels. There is a lot info that will help assess disabilities and music skills.

This is a great book! I used it in my Music in Special Education class in Florida State. I had the honor to be taught by one of the writers, Dr. Alice-Ann Darrow, and she is amazing! She loves people, specially our brothers and sisters with disabilities and special needs. It was an eye opener from beginning to end. This book starts with the history and laws of Spec Ed and then covers all the major disabilities and the music interventions for each.
Great tool for music therapists and music educators! A+++

In a joint undergraduate Music Therapy and Music Education class, our professor basically had us read each chapter of the book front to back over the course of the semester. This was our only material apart from extra things he brought in. It's organized in an easy, logical way and covered everything we needed to know.
