This is a good compiliation, as usual the City of Prague Orchestra is fantastic with there re-recordings. My biggest complaint is, well, only 1 track form episode 2, one track from episode 6, and all the tracks from episode 1 are on "The Sci Fi album vol 1" and "Space 3: beyond the final frontier". Other tracks were already released on various space and beyond compiliations from silva as well. I think they should have waited until after episode 3 and released a double album..maybe they will...that would be cool. This is a good cd by all means, I just think it should have been longer, a double cd set like the star trek album and lord of the rings. But for what is here, it is performed wonderfully.

My six-year old has become a huge fan of Star Wars and enjoys listening to this disc. It has the best tracks of each episode.

Wouldn't it be great if you could take all the best music from the 5 Star Wars films and combine them into a modern, coherent orchestral performance? That's what this album is. Don't spend $100 on all the separate soundtracks and sit through five hours of filler music. The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra brings out the artistry of John Williams in this single CD that classical music buffs will love, never mind Star Wars fans. But forget Star Wars - this is high quality music in its own right.

"Big Sound in a small package ~ Star Wars Saga",
This review is from: Music from the Star Wars Saga (Audio CD)
Silva America and The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra featuring Paul Bateman (conductor), with Crouch End Festival Chorus featuring David Temple (choir master) work magic with the film score by John Williams...George Lucas hit series of the "Music from the Star Wars Saga", powerful with every cue that falls on the ears ~ orchestration is spectacular more thrilling than ever, with the themes that we've come to love over the past three decades.
More amazing is how fresh all of this sounds in this 13 track package ~ Maestro Williams is a genius as he demonstrates with samples from each film of the saga...overwhelming intricate and exciting action tracks that will keep you spellbound with this less than one hour sampling ~ our composer creates visual moods for each special film he scores, strings, brass and lush-velt arrangements overlay each cue in his distinctive signature style ~ musical movements fit the story and must resolve rather quickly as each cue of the film passes in a split second ~ Williams has the ability to emphasis music in a similar fashion as classical compoer Holst...use of strings sets the mood and brass is inclusive to make the whole scene come together...not an easy task, but our legendary film scorer hits the mark everytime. Take a bow for this album credits ~ James Fitzpatrick(producer), Reynold da Silva(executive producer), David Stoner(release co-ordinator), Rick Clark(sleeve notes) and of course Silva America for releasing this gem ~ Paul Bateman and David Temple a special thank you with City of Prague Philharmonic and Crouch End Festival Chorus making all these performances memorable...just the way "film-score-buffs" like 'em...gotta love it! Total Time: 56:49 on 13 Tracks ~ Silva America 1163 ~ (09/07/2004)

We bought this for my son for Christmas & he is playing it everyday & loves it! He is a new Star Wars fan at the age of 5, so we limit what he watches- only Star Wars 4 for now but I would recommend this CD.

My son is going through a phase of building Star Wars models, and loves to listen to this CD while building and playing with them. Being a professional musician, I was impressed with the quality of the recording and the orchestra. Well worth the price...

This is a great selection of Star Wars music.
I believe there is at least one song from all six movies included on the CD. Some of the songs are, of course, heard in multiple epsisodes in some form. If you do not want to shell out huge $$$ for all the CDs, this is a great choice. The Amazon CD description lists Track 12, "Across the Stars," with Episode II. However, it is also heard in various forms in Episode III.

I bought this CD to play at work for background music and it's great for that. The only thing missing is the usually obligatory 20th Century Fox theme before the main Star Wars theme. Other than that, the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and the Crouch End Festival Chorus do a very fine job with Maestro Williams' music, indeed.
