5.0 out of 5 stars TED THE BARE, December 11, 2011

This review is from: The Music of Ted Nugent (Audio CD)
TED NUGENT-THE MUSIC OF TED NUGENT: Mixing blatant sexual metaphors with equally rock hard riffage, Detroit's favorite wild card crashes outta this three disc roundup with the psychedelicized AMBOY DUKES freak-out JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE MIND. Uncle Ted, always a more arresting axeman than singer (though a great screamer), capably handles the howling on sleazoid smash CAT SCRATCH FEVER and fist pumper/axe humper WANGO TANGO, an unbalanced stream of consciousness meltdown. Signature slam-bangers SNAKESKIN COWBOYS and JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED are bellowed out by NUGENT's intermittent secret weapon, blue eyed soul-shaker DEREK ST. HOLMES, a pre-fame MEAT LOAF weighs in with HAMMERDOWN, and CHARLIE HUHN bawls out a bloozey cover of GEORGE HARRISON's I WANT TO TELL YOU. A trio of loin-clad class-sicks from the lava-spewing concert album DOUBLE LIVE GONZO finishes off the third platter. This tough as nails box set wisely clamps shut tight before delving into the free falling phase of the MOTOR CITY MADMAN's post-70s career.

RATING: FIVE CROSSBOWS

5.0 out of 5 stars lots of teds best songs here., June 4, 2011

This review is from: The Music of Ted Nugent (Audio CD)
Ted nugent started with the amboy dukes and on this boxset it starts with the amboy dukes and moves forward. It has the hit from 1968 'journey to the center of the mind' and many other great songs. This is a boxset for casual fans as hardcore fans will already have every song on here. Includint the rarity 'you talk sunshine I spit fire'. The sound is not better than the standard releases of this material and the legacy versions are the best ones to buy from the classic nuge days.
