Jason's playing is no exception to the great Marsalis name. With this album he brings a freshness to the drums and vibes that is long overdue. What I love about Jason's style is the humbleness that comes through his playing. This is one bad dude, and you can feel that he's not showy about it. It just flows.

With this album, I was a little thrown off by the drum solos at first (the Asia one is nasty though), and didn't personally care as much for the 'Ballet' track at first, but for some reason this CD grows on you, and you just keep popping it in.

Could have been mixed a little better, but Jason's playing stands out regardless. Excited to hear something fresh, and hope it doesn't take as many years for him to bring it again!

Ditto the above review (nicely stated!), although I found the mix fine and actually audiophile quality.

One finds humor, humility, great skill, awesome tone and a sense of fun on this CD. Who is this guy? I want to hear more. Jason shows that Jazz still has new things to say. Very cool.
