3.0 out of 5 stars Wild, maybe too wild, June 23, 2000

The songs on the list are sure to get your guests in the laughing mood. It will bring out the exhibitionists and may cause a little too much shaking. If this is the type of wedding you want it is great for you. However, if your tastes lean on the conservative side, this CD is definitley not for you, especially if you are sick of the macarena.

2.0 out of 5 stars Its as bad as kids bop, April 13, 2007

Rule of thumb for any DJ, STICK WITH ORIGINAL ARTISTS OR POPULAR REMAKES. People HATE variations of popular party songs.
Im from the UK, been a DJ for 18 years. I now DJ in the US, and yup it takes some getting used to. Ive always wondered why its broadly known that English people are reserved, yet I have DJ'd MANY MANY more happy wild parties (weddings included) in the UK, and many more conservative ones in the US. For that reason, quite often the Hokey Cokey (called the hokey pokey for some weird reason in the US) and the Birdie Song (again, for some weird reason called the chicken dance in the US) are definately on the "do not play at weddings" songs. Actually, those 2 examples are more prone to kids parties.
The examples on this disc are not good. The most popular party songs are ones that arent cheesy, and eveyone knows (aka: cha cha slide, twist, mony mony, shout.....and although it borders on cheesy, come on ride the train (because it has a funky sound)). It seems this compilation was put together on the spur, without much thought, and without a quality check (its not good).
Mind you, if you want to ultimate cheesy party songs, US wedding enthusiasts should check out "black lace" from the UK (argghhhh)
p.s Im very surprised "gimme some " (brendon) is not a big party track here in the US too.
Again, the US are so reserved when it comes to anything remotely even slightly provocative its unreal.
Anyway, avoid this album unless someone gives it you, then dont expect too many dancing at your party!

That first review was bogus. The CD is fine - it has all the songs you only get to hear at weddings.
