This review is from: Music You Can Believe In (Audio CD)
This album has some sentimental value to me, because it was my first "Rock" album. It's Christian rock, and when I first listened to it, I was stoked. But that was when I was young. Over time, my opinion of this album has slightly dwindled. There is most certainly better music out there.I've also come to realize that though this album contains some rock, it's also got a lot more. Songs like "Fisher of Men" and Seize the Day" would fall into the soft rock category, and with "Love Waits," there's even some country here, too. Songs like "Perfect Harmony" and "I Still Believe" add some alternative style to the album, and of course, you've got your "powerhouse" Christian Rock artists like Michael W. Smith and Clay Crosse present, too. This is a half and half album. Half of it is decent, and half of it is rather weak, but there's something for everyone here, and the album tends to leave a pleasant taste overall. So if you've got young kids that you want to indroduce to some rock and alternative style music without having to worry about nasty lyrics (because you won't find them on this christian CD), this album is a great start. |
