Excellent and with Lacy!, August 2, 2009

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Steve Lacy plays on 2/3 of the pieces here. I have always been a big Lacy fan and his playing is top notch in these composed / improvised works. Most of the other members i know from other improvisation ensembles and are of course experts at this sort of music. This four cd set is excellent if you want to have an idea of how these guys played (or play?) live. Also a nice introduction to the group. The sound is excellent through out so there is no problem in that regard. Recommended to Free jazz, electro acoustic and improvisation / avant garde music fans.
