On a recent trip to Italy, I happened to be watching Italian MTV and the music video for Paolo Meneguzzi's "Musica" began to play. I was immediatly captured by the beautiful melodies and catchy lyrics (even though I cannot understand Italian). Returning to the States I looked for the album in local bookstores and on Itunes. Finding it in none of those places I resorted to buying it off Amazon.

As a whole I have enjoyed this album. The main single for which the album is titled, "Musica", is excellent, featuring beautiful piano melodies and passion in Paolo's voice. I have also enjoyed the other tracks on this album, my favorites being "Stai Con Me", "Ho Bisogno D'Amore", "Ricordati Che", and "Aiuto".

All of the songs on this album have a decidely "pop-y" feel, featuring mainly piano, vocals, and special effects. However, if you're looking for a group of songs just to relax to, then this is the album.

This is a great CD. But the spanish version has some of his older songs but in spanish. And of course the italian one has some different songs as well so buy both. :) I agree that the italian songs sound better and just flow but the spanish one is great too.

This is a strong album - it contains the powerhouse pop ballad "Musica" which, according to Wikipedia, is the best selling single in Italian history. But, the other songs are strong as well - there is no placeholder material here. It's a great mix of uptempo songs and pop ballads, but it has just enough of a clubby edge to not sound like the standard stuffy pop music you get from a lot of latin artists. His background as a DJ may be what helps him out in this regard. I'd opt for the Italian version over the Spanish version of the album - when you listen to both, the Italian versions just seem to have more life.
