Rare recordings, December 23, 2006

This CD, which is a collectors item and hence not cheap, contains some very rare recordings of the songs of Jerome Kern. If you are a fan of Irene Dunne or Lily Pons, this may be your only chance to hear their 78 recordings of "I told every little Star" and "Jockey on the Carousel", for starters. A few of the other tracks, such as those of Deanna Durbin, are available on other compilations. The tracks of Ginger Rogers are OK but she really was not much of a singer.
