You may be in a sushi bar and hear "Sumimasen". Right away you think "Excuse me". It becomes automatic. You actually think in English but speak in Japanese (in the beginning).
We have also discovered that when you learn this way (by cranking up the stereo and repeating along with the music) YOU HAVE NO ACCENT. What happens is that the repetition develops the appropriate muscles in your mouth enabling you so speak the language properly. AUTHCOMMENTS; HISTORY OF RAPANESE
Rapanese was created by a French Canadian, ex-disc jockey, school teacher, Mike D'Amours. He started using Rapanese in his classroom of 25 students in 1989 to teach Japanese. By 1991 the Kelowna Secondary School, BC Canada, had to hire a second language instructor to cope with the five fold increase in demand. Since then Mike has been teaching French and Spanish, with even more amazing results. RAPANESE JAPANESE SERIES 2 IS AVAILABLE

This review is from: The Musical Method of Learning Japanese: Series 1 (Rapanese Musical Method of Learning Series I) (Audio Cassette)
I loved the tape. The sound and words are very clear. I found myself singing the phrases after the tape stopped. This helped me to memorise Japanese. I have a hard time paying attention to audio tapes- usually thinking about other things while the tape is playing in the background. But by singing along with this great sounding tape, I was able to retain more of the Japanese vocabulary. I wish there was a CD version for listening, and singing with the kids on roadtrips.

A perfect introduction to Japanese.,

This review is from: Rapanese - The Musical Method of Learning Japanese (Series II) (Rapanese Musical Method of Learning Series II) (Audio Cassette)
When I took Japanese in Junior High (1993), our class listened to the Rapanese tapes regularly. Now, I still remember all of the phrases we went through as if I listened to the tapes yesterday. Rapanese is a fun, painless way to learn just enough Japanese to get by. While someone who wants to become fluent in Japanese should look for a more formal course, Rapanese is perfect for: beginning students who want to get a taste of the language, people who plan on vacationing in Japan, and even host famalies who want to make communication is Japanese exchange students easier. Overall, Rapanese is a fun and easy way to learn basic Japanese, and I am sure I will remember what I learned from them for many years to come.
