I loved the tape. The sound and words are very clear. I found myself singing the phrases after the tape stopped. This helped me to memorise Japanese. I have a hard time paying attention to audio tapes- usually thinking about other things while the tape is playing in the background. But by singing along with this great sounding tape, I was able to retain more of the Japanese vocabulary. I wish there was a CD version for listening, and singing with the kids on roadtrips.

When I took Japanese in Junior High (1993), our class listened to the Rapanese tapes regularly. Now, I still remember all of the phrases we went through as if I listened to the tapes yesterday. Rapanese is a fun, painless way to learn just enough Japanese to get by. While someone who wants to become fluent in Japanese should look for a more formal course, Rapanese is perfect for: beginning students who want to get a taste of the language, people who plan on vacationing in Japan, and even host famalies who want to make communication is Japanese exchange students easier. Overall, Rapanese is a fun and easy way to learn basic Japanese, and I am sure I will remember what I learned from them for many years to come.
