The shoulder strap is worthless. The case keeps my bass guitar (ibanez sr300) secure and safe. I have had no zipper problems, but I tend to be careful with it. The cut outs and side pocket allow for a notebook, ear plugs and other essentials. You *may* be able to get a cord packed in depending on the length. You can't beat it for the price and I am very happy with my purchase. The only reason to get another polyfoam case would be for a functional shoulder strap. The case is light, so a shoulder strap is not really needed anyway.

Decent case for the money. A lot lighter than a typical "hard" case. Wouldn't want to throw it around as much, probably tend to tear it up if you did. Zipper works good but will have to see how long it holds up. I just use it for home storage so if you gig with this your milage may vary.
