I've often thought, "Who speaks for the average black man?" The one who has never been to jail, at least not for anything serious. The one who hits eight for the man every day making a living. The one who loves his woman and his children. "Boring," you say? I think not!
With "Musings. . .", I seek to spotlight the intricacies of his emotions, spirituality, thoughts and environment. The breadth of his love, the sharpness of his wit and the expanse of his vision. Can it be that there is great depth to these waters so still?
So sit back and enjoy this look at the black Everyman. If you are one, maybe you will find yourself inside these covers. If you love or are raising one, maybe you will understand him better. And, if you are looking for one, maybe you will get an idea of what he will be like.
Peace and blessings,
Tom W.

This review is from: Musings of an Average African-American Man (Paperback)
I found so much in this book that was relevant. I loved the spiritual references and the way the author shared his innermost feelings. There were some points of view in the book that I disagreed with but it did give me something to think about. Definitely a good coffee table book. Gave one to my dad for father's day and he really liked it.

This review is from: Musings of an Average African-American Man (Paperback)
I found the book to be very good. It was a plain English view of a black man in poetry. I think the author has a unique way of letting us see what he sees and feel what he feels without preaching at us. It is funny, insightful and even stirring from an inspirational point of view. I would suggest this book to others.
