Here in Malaysia, we are constantly debating whether analogue is better or digital. Now if all CDs sound as good as this reissue, vinyl may finally lose out. This CD sounds so good that it's unbelievable. Thank you to Collectables for another Vikki Carr masterpiece. The Persian Room live recording is particularly excellent & Vikki sounds so dammed good!

Muchisimas gracias Collectibles for finally unearthing these jewels. Vikki Carr is one of those rare performers who trascends trends and times and this re-issue is proof of it. It Must Be Him is such a great albums, no wonder it was nominated for Album of the Year by the Recording Academy in 1968. Her perfect delivery of the standards and hits of the day in her live album makes the long wait for these long-overdue re-issues worth the wait. Everyone who enjoys great music must add this to their collection, and thank you to all people involved in making this happen, and thank you Vikki for giving us young and old fans the gift of music.

I just received my CD today. I'v been listening to it over and over again. It's wonderful! Quite a few of the songs I haven't been able to listen to for such a long time. I have all the songs on this CD on various Vinyls! Needlees to say I haven't had a turntable in years. For old and new fans of Vikki Carr this CD is a definately worth adding to your collection.Thank You Amazon and Collectables for realizing that there is a HUGE demand for Vikki Carr CD's.

This cd is TRULY amazing !!!
It is the BEST sounding transfer to cd I have ever heard and what great song tracks to listen too.
Here you have a studio recording and a LIVE version of IT MUST BE HIM .(also CANT TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU)
You get bonus tracks of THE LESSON and NEVER MY LOVE .
WITH PEN IN HAND alone is worth the cost of this cd .
A hard to find gem is possible one of the greatest musical pieces ever writen is here also CARNIVAL (i have yet to hear anyone else cover it better then MISS CARR)
Other tracks are LOOK AGAIN , A BIT OF LOVE , ALFIE , FORGET YOU to mention a few .

I must have heard the 8-trac of these two albums a thousand times in my families old Chrysler "Town and Country" Station Wagon in the early 70's as my family would go on vacations to Lake Mead.

Vikki Carr is (if you like the old Vegas Cover Artist (Lounge Singer) type of music), a very talented artist, that could really wring the emotion out of a lyric. Her heart wrenching performance of "With Pen In Hand" and "It Must Be Him" are just a couple of examples of songs still stuck in my head after all this time. I surprised my folks with this set last year and they were happy with the memories as well.

This is the second excellent compilation of Vikki's music from the good people at Collectables, responsible for Ms America/One hell of a woman. It features one studio album and one live album, plus two bonus studio tracks.

The studio album is It must be him. Do not confuse this with the album of the same title which was paired with The way of today as a British twofer which is now sadly out of print, but which I bought while still available. Only four tracks appear on both albums (Forget you, Look again, Her little heart went to loveland and It must be him). All these tracks are impeccable (of course) but so is the rest of this album, which contains a lot of lovely but obscure songs, as well as Vikki's masterful covers of Alfie and Can't take my eyes off you.

The second album was recorded live in front of a small but select audience in New York's Plaza. Two of the songs are live versions of songs that appear on the studio album (It must be him and Can't take my eyes off you) while For once im my life is reprised at the end of the live set, having opened it. I could have done without all this duplication, but it does not detract from the qualty of this CD.

There are some great covers in the live album, including Happy together (Turtles) and The other man's grass is always greener (Petula). Vikki was clearly in top form.

This is yet another Vikki collection to be treasured. Let's hope Collectables follow it with a whole series of twofers by Vikki - there are plenty more of Vikki's recordings lying in the vaults and many customers eager to buy them.

Finally, a re-release onto cd containing not one but two LP's by one of America's greatest artists. Beginning in the 1960's, Vikki Carr was an intergenerational artist who was one of the best selling artists of that turbulant era. Collectables should be congratualted for resurrecting these two albums. In particular, "For Once in My Life" has desperately needed a re-release for it is a magnetically volcanic performance by an artist who is still at the top of her gain. But let's not forget "It Must Be Him," which another jewel. An equally great album, it starts off with Carr's showstopping hits: "It Must Be Him" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," the latter having more bite than Frankie Valli's overly anemic version. The rest are all unknown goodies that transmit a life enhancing experience--especially a heart melting version "Alfie" that's not over shouted. "For Once In my Life" is just that--incredibly vibrant performances of "It Must Be Him" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" that tears the roof off the joint! Please Collectables let's have more Vikki Carr releases!!!

A really true Vikki Carr fan will know just how priceless this CD is, you get the feeling Vikki is right in the room singing to only you, what a great feeling. It is so wonderful to have such a collection on a CD, get on the bandwagon and order your CD right away and THANK YOU Collectables for putting this album out and THANK YOU ... for carrying this great CD. I love In A Million Years Or So and of course the all time favorite It Must Be Him.

This CD is one of my all time favorites. I especially love tracks 12 thru 23 which were recorded Live at the Persian Room - makes you feel like you are right there! It also includes two bonus tracks - "The Lesson" and "Never My Love". There's even a little something written by
