I would recommend this book to anyone, including friends and family members of those diagnosed with breast cancer. This is an honest account of the author's journey from start to successful finish after being diagnosed. This unique perspective includes reactions from seven sisters, and how they either rallied or ran from reality. We meet the author's earth angels. There is a lesson to be learned on how to involve loved ones, because there will be times when they also feel helpless - and putting them to work for you can benefit you both. Besides educating about specific options and side effects, the book shows the author's gift of finding the humor in an otherwise scary situation. The characters she meets along the way had me smiling and shaking my head, and, by viewing them through the author's eyes, the tasks these people must help her with somehow make the awkward moments seem more normal. If We Must Dance, Then I Will Lead is written with heart, humor, and honesty, and with good old fashioned hootspa and attitude.

An intriguing account of her battle against breast cancer, with just the right mixture of heartfelt emotions and playful humor. It is unique because Rudden weaves in medical information that is helpful for those going through a similar experience. If We Must Dance Then I Will Lead was an interesting read, even for those who are not personally connected to breast cancer because of the family dynamic she writes about and her unique style of writing.

I love this book. I had Dr. Rudden as a professor for 3 semesters in a row and you would have never known she went through any of this. She is a very strong woman with a great sense of humor. As I read this book her wit and dry humor were all throughout its pages. Even through the storm she faced she retained her sanity. I recommend this book to everyone it's a great tribute to those who have fought with cancer, and a great success story as well.
