5.0 out of 5 stars An entertaining, yet seriously helpful "manual" with a pair of views
I am really enjoying this book. It gives you two different point of views (through their own experiences) as moms to moms from the delivery of your first child to healthy child-rearing to work-life balance to marriage to education (and many other subjects). I also found great appreciation for many websites they include throughout and at the end of each chapter. Don't...

1.0 out of 5 stars Pithy and shallow
This book is not helpful. It's written for entertainment reasons, not to be truly helpful. They are judgemental about people who do not parent the way they think is right, even though they may disagree with each other. Shallow. Total waste of my gift card. Wish I could return it as sucking. Don't waste your money, move on.

I am really enjoying this book. It gives you two different point of views (through their own experiences) as moms to moms from the delivery of your first child to healthy child-rearing to work-life balance to marriage to education (and many other subjects). I also found great appreciation for many websites they include throughout and at the end of each chapter. Don't let the colorful, cute cover deceive you. It is not only humorous and girly, but it also gives great, much-needed advice and facts for serious life challenges. I'm going to always keep this book within arms-reach!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this book!, June 10, 2010
This review is from: The Must-Have Mom Manual: Two Mothers, Two Perspectives, One Book That Tells You Everything You Need to Know (Paperback)
I'm about halfway through this book and so far, I absolutely love it! I've read a few of the more conventional baby books (What To Expect, The Baby Book, Dr. Spock, etc.) and while those are definitely informative and also a 'must-read', I am enjoying The Must-Have Mom Manual because it's brings a more real-life perspective to parenting. Being a (first-time) mom-to-be, it's nice to take a break from the heavier parenting books, while also feeling that I am getting valuable information in raising my future children. Another thing I really like is that they cite the books and websites they use at the end of each chapter, so if you would like to read more on a particular subject, you can get the book(s) or go to the website(s).

I definitely recommend The Must-Have Mom Manual!

This is an amazing book that tackles a broad range of mom concerns and challenges from pre-baby through young adulthood. It is great to get the two perspectives, since there is truly no one "right" way to parenting. I will buy this for all of my expecting friends!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great book!, September 8, 2009
This review is from: The Must-Have Mom Manual: Two Mothers, Two Perspectives, One Book That Tells You Everything You Need to Know (Paperback)
I loved this book!! I'm a first time mom and they had everything I could have ever needed to know on a personal level in the book. What I especially loved is the way the present all sides and thoughts of a situation and they did all the research for you! I laughed out loud reading this book so many times and so did my husband (who hates reading but read this book because it's so great). I would recommend this book to anyone having a child or who already has one. I borrowed this book from the library and after reading it decided I needed to buy a copy to always have handy for their helpful research and tips. It's just great having a book that came from real moms who had two total different views on how to raise their children. From here on out I will always give this book to all my friends and family as a shower gift.
