5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this book!
I love this book! It was a lot of fun read, especially since I am a dragon myself. We get lots of bad press.

I actually read this book (Must Love Dragons) BEFORE I read the first book (Date Me Babe, One More Time) in the series and I didn't get lost and had a really good time. I picked up the first book of the series based on this one and I have to say,...

This writer has a lot of potential. There is a world here, I just don't know if the world is to be a revised contemporary one or if it is its' own unique one. The world isn't as stable as it should be, meaning there are inconsistencies to what the rules appear to be.

I actually read this book (Must Love Dragons) BEFORE I read the first book (Date Me Babe, One More Time) in the series and I didn't get lost and had a really good time. I picked up the first book of the series based on this one and I have to say, I still like this one better. I'm looking forward to her new book coming out in May (He Loves Me, He Loves Me Hot).

And there were some scenes that were VERY hot ;-) Like I said - a good read.

This is the first book by Stephanie Rowe that I have read and I will definitely buy her others. I have found that I really enjoy reading these silly kind of stories. I love that the author can make the story so silly that I laugh out loud and so interesting I don't want to put the book down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique, funny, a real keeper, October 30, 2006
This review is from: Must Love Dragons (Immortally Sexy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I hate giving away any spoilers to a book, and this book has so many unique aspects to it that it would be easy to do just that. The books starts out making you grin and ends up with one still grinning. MUST LOVE DRAGONS is a light, humorous paranormal about a female dragon who's stuck in her dragon state and can't switch into her human form, and has been in exhile for 200 years. She lives in an apartment and has been having Cybersex with a guy who wants to meet her and of course she can't because she's a dragon. She decides to make a deal with Satan for her human form. Satan is so funny--and very full of himself. When the hero and heroine get together it turns out he's a reformed dragon slayer. But she brings out the slaying instincts in him and has to fight not to kill her. And what's hysterical is that he has these pheromones, that as soon as she releases them she falls into a puddle of goo and wants to have sex with him. Then she learns that dragon fire doesn't burn slayers, it makes them practically unconscious from desire. So their first sex scene is funny and hot. His pheromones are like the smell of chocolate cake or frosting, rich decadent desserts. Who wouldn't want a guy like that?

Definitely a keeper!

than this book is for you! It's cleverly written with language that will surprise you and keep you laughing. The paranormal connections keep this quickly moving plotline original. The characters are very well developed, and the chemistry between Theresa and Zeke sizzles off the pages. I'm the kind of person that usually can't get halfway through a book without losing interest, but this actually had me hooked from start to finish. Now I want to read any Stephanie Rowe book I can get my hands on, and I've already given this one as a gift to a couple friends of mine. You'll want to read it, read it again, then lend it to everyone you know who's a book lover.

I'm through half of it and absolutely love it. Sure it's kinda silly, well really silly, but there is just something about that makes me want to read more. After searching through the amazon page about this book, I just realized it's a sequel. I discovered this book at a "white elephant" party and stole it from a friend (it came with a box of chocolates). The back cover is hilarious by itself, and I immediatly knew I was in for a good time. I'm off to buy the first novel "Baby date me one more time." Cheers!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Must Love Dragons (Immortally Sexy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
This writer has a lot of potential. There is a world here, I just don't know if the world is to be a revised contemporary one or if it is its' own unique one. The world isn't as stable as it should be, meaning there are inconsistencies to what the rules appear to be.

Do people know what Slayers are and that they've lived a long time? They live and work in the real world some as real slayers and the hero as an excellent missing person detective who has given up slaying. Then there is the heroine, the dragon who because of her dragon form hasn't been able to live in the "real" world for over 200 years, but she knows what a computer is and has had cyber sex with the hero for over six month.

I never really understand what size the dragon is. She lives in condos apparently quite comfortably and has managed to come by clothes, that as a dragon she wears.

One scene she has Zeke, the hero, go to her condo to pick up some clothes for her. This is after she's in human form and she's gone out and bought other clothes. He brings back clothes that he remembers as being part of their cyber sex. Shouldn't those clothes be too large for the woman she's become now?

There are many things like this that, for me, take away from the story. I did like Zeke and Theresa (T), when there was a connection between the two of them it was very nice. The connection wasn't always there. I didn't really understand T's place in the world and her association with all the other active and mentioned characters. She was more one dimensional for me. No matter how much of a background she was given and that the whole story surrounded her and what people wanted from her. I just didn't seem to see anything deeper in her.

The ending lesson in this book was how T learned to ask for help. Well, throughout the entire book she asked others for help. It may have been more like demand or just take help, but she didn't do any of this alone. So I guess it was her inability to ask Zeke for help? Which I didn't really see as an issue either. I don't know. It was a stupid lesson. Her growing up and taking responsibility for her actions was a much better lesson that was overshadowed by the getting help lesson.

This book is not a standalone book. I had not read the first book and am trying to decide if I should go and read the first book. There was a lot of references to the first book that as a reader who hadn't read the first book you knew you were missing something, but it could be overlooked. But it was an irritation to realize there was something that you were missing. As a reader I don't want the first book replayed, but I do want the references better explained and not in the words of the first book, but from the experience of the characters in the book I'm reading.

Despite all this irritation, the book is lite and fluffy and has some nice moments. It's a fast read. The writer needs to get a better hold on the world and determine what the rules are. The writer had to have better transitions for the characters and the scenes.

Bottom line: Borrow the book from the library unless you're into the series. If you're in the series chances are you'll have to refer to other books to better understand what's going on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable, August 16, 2007
This review is from: Must Love Dragons (Immortally Sexy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Must Love Dragons by Stephanie Rowe was an enjoyable read. This book picks up where Date Me, Baby, One More Time ends. The focus this time is the dragon, Theresa, and her exploits with her cyberlover Zach. The character of Theresa is amusing and engaging. She lives in the moment without a lot of thought to the consequences of her actions. When what she's done catches up with her, she strives to correct her mistakes. In the course of the book you actually see the character grow. Her love interest isn't all that compelling, but he has his place as does his history. The lovesick Satan is amusing as well. I just have a hard time with the syntax the author uses in his dialog. I'm not sure if he's affecting some sort of accent or not.

Overall, I liked this book better than the first one in the series. I do like the way the author takes a minor character from the first book and moves on to more detail with the second book. I know the third book also picks up with another character and moves forward.

5.0 out of 5 stars When Bad is Very, Very Good, December 20, 2006
This review is from: Must Love Dragons (Immortally Sexy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Theresa Nichols is an immortal dragon who's bored with being confined to her dragon form. When Zeke, her cyber-sex partner threatens to drop her unless they meet, she strikes a deal with Satan to turn her human. What she doesn't know is that Zeke is a reformed dragon slayer. When the two meet, more than sparks fly.

What follows is a hilarious romp through the streets of New York and the underworld - the REAL underworld. The cast of characters will leave you laughing, hissing, gasping and booing as you lose yourself in their convoluted schemes for world domination, sexual domination, soul-searching (in more ways than one) and just plain old-fashioned down-and-dirty-hot sex.

Rowe's paranormal romantic comedy is hot - from more than just dragon breath - funny, and entirely satisfying. If you want a sexy paranormal with a twist, this is definitely a book for you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Silly, vapid, and "lite", November 4, 2008
This review is from: Must Love Dragons (Immortally Sexy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
If you want a book that won't engage anything but your funnybone, here it is. With a heroine so self-centered, incompetent, and shallow, it is a wonder that this book is even worth 2 stars. Somehow it rises above the poor character development, lack of anything resembling a plot, and actually makes you laugh slightly more than groan. There are so many more books that are "lite" reading that are much, much better. This one tries too hard and misses the brass ring.

3.0 out of 5 stars More like 3 1/2 stars..., September 16, 2007
This review is from: Must Love Dragons (Immortally Sexy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Being trapped in dragon form can sure get lonely! Theresa Nichols will do anything to go on a date and have sex- even if it means selling her soul to Satan. Unfortunately, Satan never makes a deal he won't win, as Theresa is soon going to find out. Meanwhile, her first date in forever takes an awful turn when Zeke Siccardi reveals his true nature as an ex-dragon slayer. What will Theresa do when Satan holds her soul and everyone else seems to want her dead?

MUST LOVE DRAGONS is the sequel to the hilarious DATE ME BABY, ONE MORE TIME. Readers will better appreciate this story if they have read the first book, especially in regards to Satan. The relationship between Satan and Iris isn't really explained in MUST LOVE DRAGONS so Satan's motivations are somewhat unclear for those unfamiliar with the back story explained in DATE ME BABY, ONE MORE TIME.

Theresa's story takes so many bizarre and unusual twists that it is almost impossible to figure out where the story is going. I have to admit that the basic premise of the book was a bit difficult for me to believe. Theresa's willingness to sell her soul to Satan for sex seems almost like too easy of a decision for her to make, especially since she has the responsibility of guarding Mona, the Goblet of Eternal Youth. Zeke is a more likeable character. His desire to give up dragon slaying is particularly admirable once his reasons for doing so are revealed. Zeke has a few secrets of his own, however, as neither Zeke nor Theresa is infallible by any means.

Stephanie Rowe is to be commended for her willingness to take chances with this unique series. MUST LOVE DRAGONS is vastly different from any of the other paranormal books out there and therefore definitely worth reading. While the story does seem to go a little too far at times, almost veering into the ridiculous, it is still a series that grabs your attention if only for the shock factor.
