Book Description

Thomas Cash (TC) Riley is mad, bad and –dead. Killed in a one car wreck the twenty-nine-year old playboy is given one last chance to redeem himself for living a selfish, unfulfilled life and to determine his soul’s final destination.

To help his young daughter recover from the loss of her mother, Daniel Bishop, a widower who dislikes the country and is allergic to anything with fur, has moved back to his wife’s rural hometown to be close to her large family.

Katherine Sinclair, the local veterinarian and the single mother of an adventurous ten-year old son, is wary of the handsome newcomer. Once before she’d given her heart to a wealthy, charming man and she’d ended up pregnant and alone.

With the help of a lonely little girl and a brash young boy, can TC find a way to bring these two damaged people together? Can he remember his past and save his soul in the allotted time?

And can he do it all as a cat?

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed the read December 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I truly enjoyed this book and the multiple layers of the story. The book overlays the stories of several people and how they overlap; we learn about TC in addition to the main couple with their own pasts, hurts, fears and struggles they are trying to overcome. The story flowed well and was easy to follow. I could watch the relationship emerge and hope for love to conquer the fear and pain of the past. I liked watching TC evolve from ‘it’s all about me’ to putting others first as he struggles to come to terms with his own situation and learn more about his past. I had the opportunity to beta read an earlier version of the book and then was provided a free copy of the final book in exchange for my honest review. Overall, I really liked the story and think it will make a great series as TC moves forward with new missions and learns more about himself. I would recommend this book to other romance addicts.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Sweet and Entertaining Read April 2, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a very sweet story and quite well written. I was caught up in the story right from the start, and entranced with the world of Thomas Cash Riley as he struggles not only to be a man trapped in a cat's body, but as he tries to complete his mission, which he really doesn't understand at first. Ms. Hendricks made me care about the characters and I truly enjoyed the story. My only criticism is that it did end a little abruptly, but I am very happy I read this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super Fun, Sweet Romance with a Paranormal Twist. March 16, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I admit it, when I first saw this book I was a bit worried it would be silly. Come on .... a cat? I loved another book by the author so I figured I would give it a try. Sometimes it is awesome when first impressions are wrong. This was such a super sweet romance with a fun paranormal element. The love story felt genuine and both Daniel and Katherine were intelligent, kind and likable. The way TC interacted with people, especially Daniel's young daughter was both fascinating and humorous. I also really enjoyed the mystery over who TC is/was. While this is a complete story for Daniel and Katherine, TC's story has just begun and I am really looking forward to seeing where he goes next.

More About the Author

Elysa Hendricks is 5'6" tall. She has curly hair and brown eyes. She's an author, a wife, a mother and a daughter. Everything else is subject to change without notice.

After trying her hand at a variety of careers, insurance underwriter, video store owner, home day care, and domestic goddess for other people, Elysa Hendricks, a longtime reader sat down to write a short contemporary novel. When her heroine turned out to be a winged, telepathic alien, Elysa decided she enjoyed writing stories set in different places, times, and realities. She's published 14 full-length books, ranging from sweet contemporary to sexy sci-fi, as well as numerous short stories.

While living in north east Illinois she helped found the Windy City Chapter and the Futuristic, Fantasy & Paranormal Chapters of Romance Writers of America, and taught workshops on writing at writer's conferences and at community colleges. Recently relocated to sunny Florida she's happy to be part of the Tampa Area Romance Author chapter of RWA.

Her "real life" motto is: Boring is good. Excitement is vastly overrated, so she saves the adventure and excitement for the characters in her books.
