Over the years I have listened to a lot of audio tapes and cd's since it's a great way to learn new ideas and strategies for my business. But, more importantly I am listening to content which helps keep my mind focused on being positive and seeking solutions to the challenges I am facing personally and in my business.
One of the first books I read on personal development was "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. This is the foundational book of the personal development movement in the 20th Century. Even today the book has a lot of ideas which are valuable and applicable. If you haven't read it, then pick up a copy, it is an interesting book. One of the "secrets" in the book that Napoleon Hill alludes to is the power of thought and the title of the book says it all, think and grow rich. Earl Nightingale summarized it this way, "we become what we think about."
I feel as Real Estate Agents it's hard for us to be positive and upbeat these days. The national and local news continually highlight the growing number of foreclosures and short sales around the country. We see it first hand when we go out and view homes in certain cities and neighborhoods where the houses are run down and neighborhoods are declining in value. And the job market is tough for a lot of our friends, family, past Clients and potential new Clients. Every day we are hearing about more layoffs and cutbacks in companies nationally and locally. The market out there for Real Estate is a challenge because of these conditions. Yet, there are many Real Estate Agents who are thriving and doing quite well. In sales, regardless of the market and the challenges there will always be salespeople who are successful. The Real Estate Agents who are successful today are positive and focused on solutions and just block out all of the negative news and issues. There are other reasons why some Agents are successful, but the biggest part of it is staying positive and focused on helping your Clients rather than wallowing in complaints and regret because the market stinks.
Here's a tip for you if you get into a negative mind trap. I want you to think about what you think about. It sounds simple, but if you think about what type of thoughts you have each day and night then you will realize that if you focus more on positive and solution oriented thinking it will help you be more successful. And this is where my audio book, "Must See Inside" comes into the picture. By listening to this audio book on a regular basis it will help you stay motivated, focused and learning new ideas for your business as a Real Estate Agent. I have been an Agent since 2002 and I have found it hard to find meaningful books and audio content which are written by actual, active Real Estate Agents about the sales and marketing process and the challenges we face today and into the future. So I took the time and effort outside of my regular business to write this audio book. "Must See Inside" is applicable to all Agents be they relatively new or in business for many years and are looking for new ideas, motivation and inspiration.
